De Z for El H -- finally -- a change that should have been made at half time. I can't remember the last time El H even touched the ball.

i really cannot stand this psv team, they are extremely dirty as an entire team; all elbows flying, all grabbing and tugging and manhandling, all taunting and little hijinx away from the ball... it's a joke

and btw... ummm... do we even have any attackers to bring on as fresh legs???

it was beyond stupid to let suarez go without ANY replacement in attack, just for the damn numbers

0-0 is a fair result for an away match in Eindhoven. PSV had much more possession but only able to get a couple of hard shots in which Stekelenberg dealt with in fine fashion. Defensively this was our best match of the year. A couple of mistakes here and there but both fullbacks were outstanding today against the PSV wingers. We could not find a way to break through and still don't have the Suarez replacement who can create something out of nothing. El Hamdaoui was pretty much absent and I think a decision soon has to be made about whether he or de Jong is the better striker since we lose a lot of mobility with both on the field. AZ lost a man to a red card and I've not seen a final on that match (still 1-0 AZ).

They are the closest to a Portuguese side that we have in the Eredivisie. I lost count of the number of dives that were taken. At least we have the good quality not to play cheating football.

We just about deserved the clean sheet, and couldn't create anything up front. Did we get any shots from inside the box? Anyway, PSV will be happier with the result than Ajax.

PSV are dirty but Toby and Jan get yellows for next to nothing. Our attack was weak and there is nothing to bring on .Ozbiliz is not ready and why put Cvitanich on the bench and not at least put him on .He could not do worse than El H .

Amazing that we all could watch the same game and see such different things. I thought all three referees did well. The center missed a couple of things as they usually do, but did so in both directions. Where in the world do you all get off accusing them of intentional bias?

As far as the game itself... PSV generally looked the more dangerous attacking side, while Ajax showed some good organization in defense to neutralize them. But Ajax had nothing to offer on attack. Sulejmani looked great but really had no partnership up front. Ajax might have needed the points more than PSV, but they certainly didn't deserve them more.

Fair result.

We sold Suarez and Emanuelson and did not care to replace them. So nothing unexpected so far.

just finished watching the game. very weak. nothing going forward. siem clearly can't take long range shots so i don't know why he keeps trying. el h didn't really get any service so i can't blame him. nine more games left. i can't see us catching up to psv. maybe 2nd. maybe

I must have missed this. What did he do? -- Never mind, I just read the article on VI about the elbow to Vertonghen. I felt at the time that it should have been a yellow card at a minimum. Good that Bramhaar said it warranted a sending off. Maybe we will see a little good luck and Toivonen will be suspended for some matches; only fitting in light of what they did to rabid dog Suarez last year.

The one time we were through with 2 against the keeper, the ref blew his whistle for a phantom foul.

And wasn't Eriksen through when there was a whistle for something? (maybe this is what you are referring to).

I don't understand how Ajax can take this 'safe' approach in a must-win game. Why not attack and go all out for the win? If you lose, you lose the championship. But at least you would have tried. Now you didn't try, and lose the championship as well.

I dont' think so. If we did not take the "Safe approach", psv would score 3-4 goals. Yeha, we could do something more up front, but luck is crutial part of the game and we haven't any in sunday.
It's too early for judgemnts, still 9 games left. The titel isn't everything, we must think about second place too. If we mist next CL, it would be very bad for the finances.And they are the most important thnig for the clubs today, like it, or not (or at least for everybody except Real and Barca,who are protected from the spanish goverment and can do whatever they want).
psv and twente will loose much more points than us, i'm sure

Vertonghen is off the hook for whatever they were looking at in the films from Sunday. Big news is that KNVB want Tovoinen suspended for FOUR matches because of the elbow to Jan. He can appeal by the end of today for a second review.

toivonen accepted 4 match ban. great news for us, as he will miss the games with excelsior, nec, twente (away), and utrecht at home. psv will drop points without him for sure. if we manage to win our games, we could mount a little comeback
