New contract for Leo NOW!
Great night, we have struggled on every ball: much defense but a great reaction after their goal. This team has the balls...finally...

Nice of the Fiorentia player to oblige in a nice little one-two with leo in the prelude to Ajax's winner. :hupajax.gif:

Is it a coincidence that the team from Florence were knocked out by wonder goal by Leonardo?
Some would say so.
This was destiny.

After so many fuck ups in Europe in recent years, this is so fucking sweat! This is so important psichologicaly, that i actually think we can go very far this year. Especially now, when so many favorites failed today (Aston Vila, Milan, Deportivo, Tottenham, Valencia).

What a night.
Unforgettable. Wow.
These two games against Fiorentina were the best thing that happened to this club since the 2004 Dutch championship. No doubt about it.
So important, this. In many ways.
Thank you, Ajax. Love ya!

As they say my friend ...step by step...day by day...Marseille is next.....we need to stay humble in order to win

The 'Ajax vs Slavia Prague' analogy is now definitive and official.
Fiorentina are easily a better football team than Ajax. Let the two teams play ten knock-out rounds against each other and they will probably win at least eight of them.
But: they simple couldn't crack it against this Ajax team. How many real, clear-cut chances did they create then?
180 minutes of football, one goal - that's not enough and they did not have the power to change their destiny.
It made their elimination somewhat inevitable and, over all, they could never demonstrate that they would have deserved a different fate.
That's how I felt about Ajax after the Slavia Prague games; that's how I feel about Fiorentina now.

Can't believe I worked late and missed all this drama. And Leo the hero as well.
We have an extra incentive to beat Marseille now anyway (bringing home the Helmond Cup that Twente so carelessly lost)
