Unbelievably awful chip by Urby when he had a 1-1 with the keeper. He has played poorly today

Urby blew it big time -- went for a chip over the goalie -- missed it (what else) -- when all it had to to was slide it square for a tap in. Pissed me off!!

He should have just laid it off for Leonardo. Should've got a goal there. I just don't want to see an equalizer for Volendam.

Should of been a red card for Volendam for what i thought was a last man foul but no just a yellow

Shouldn't a foul like that by the last man mean a red card instead of just a yellow?

Unbelievable refereeing. If it's bad enough to warrant a yellow, how can it not be a red in that situation???

Would be OK if they were on target. They're basically just handing over goal kicks though. We're totally asking for an equaliser here

Possibly the worst performance of the season. The only Ajacied who showed class was Suárez. He beat Volendam on his own.

But hey: it's all about the points - and we have 'em.

We will have to be better next weekend, though.

Fortunate that Vollendam could not hit the broad side of a barn today. With only a few exceptions this was a terrible match.

We must do better away from the ArenA we're so inconsistant away from home.

Not many postives but Daley Blind was perhaps the silver lining, a solid debut.

Leo and Urby had bad misses, Cvitanich was very poor, Suarez did pretty well and Sulejmani was also quite poor.

Midfield n defence were average and Vermeer did well most of the time.

A lot of work to do if we're to win the title though, not sure if the boys are up to it on this display....we need to play like we did against PSV more often..

Sulejamni used to be really good with Heerenveen. WTF happened to him? Timing? Conditioning? Hopefully that's it, but he looks poor and not very sure of himself at the moment. Cvitanich had a weak debut as the #9 to say the least.

But 3 is 3. On to NAC on Friday!

Glad for the three points. MvB had better show the lads the PSV game tapes between now and Friday to remind the players how they're supposed to play. This was dreadful. Thank heavens the schedule makers had us facing Volendam today.

Friday will be a HUGE test .

Exactly. Let's look at it like that.

We know this team can do better than this (PSV at home, Hamburg away), so let's forget about today and have a performance of that caliber on Friday.

Not alot to add , a crap performance and we were lucky to get 3points.
Basically thats 3 crap league games in arow so we can only play better.

If Suarez was injured now for the next 3games I think we would be in the shit!!

Can I just add that according to an article in my paper today is 42 years to the day that Ajax announced themselves to the world by thrashing the best team in England, Shankly's Liverpool 5-1. Bill Shankly said there was no fear from a team named after a toilet cleaner . That day the world became aware of a strange little team from Amsterdam, Cruyff and Total football.

It is a legacy all Ajax teams have had to live up to, sadly 42 years on I would describe today's performance as total crap.

PS With our Menno on site I was very worried about quoting the 42 years ago but consulted that superb book Brilliant Orange and page 22 confirmed the above is correct.
