This isn't strictly Ajax on TV but this looked the best place for it.

Whilst browsing the www I came across this site http://www.nederland.tv/

There's quite a lot of stuff on here including a link for "Voetbal tv". From the quick look I've had it looks to be mainly interviews and stuff but link/picture quality is good and certainly worth a look for free.

Whilst I'm posting here do any of our English Ajacied know if De Hems bar in London still show the Ajax European games. They seemed to stop at one time and I've not been for ages but planning a trip for the Slavia game.

Just checking: will De Graafschap vs Ajax be shown on TV in the U.S.? Or will it be shown live via the internet or something?

It looks like it is going to be a difficult year following Ajax- their are
no matches on any cable/satellite tv schedules and Setanta Sports
have not announced if they will show Dutch Eredivisie matches this year.

There's a small chance it will be shown on the internet, Ko. Keep checking this website to find out. I've watched tons of matches through that website over the last two seasons.

...but they didn't show/list much last year at the beginning of the season either - I remember having these conversations in this very thread then. Certainly in the UK they've got the highlights programme listed for next Wednesday night so I assume that they'll show that in the US some time durig the week too.

The Ajax USA site posted in their TV/Video section that Setanta Sports
would carry 40 Dutch Eredivisie matches for the 2006-07 year - The Ajax
vs P$V Dutch Super Cup was broadcast on Telemundo in Aug and Ajax
matches were listed on the TV lineup on the Setanta Sports site- This has
not happened this year 2007-08 - although Aveslacker posted that Setanta
would show 1 Live match a week-I have been searching for a listing
of matches to be shown so far no such luck - last year in the USA we
were spoiled -Setanta showed 16-17 Ajax matches. So far they will show
Thur/24 a Highlights show of all the Leagues- Keeping my fingers crossed..

I dont know if Sentana would show the Eredivsie, but when Im in Japan i watch it through a channel that broadcasts eredivisie on the sentana schedule last season, so its the same schedule.

however this year they (japanese channel) cancelled the dutch and german leagues, so im guessing sentana wont show the eredivisie

Well, we've got plenty of German games lined up on Setanta UK .

I don't think the channel ownership makes all that much difference tbh, for instance German league highlights will be very expensive in Germany but much less so in the US/UK/Japan. Setanta won't be broadcasting German games in Germany for instance so it doesn't necessarily follow that what is shown in one country will be shown in another, even from channels in the same group.

Anyway, we were quite spoiled here for last season with live games, none listed yet but tbh, the weekly Eredivisie highlights plus an occasional game (please!) would be a whole lot better than nothing (and better than watching blurred pictures on a micro-screen on my PC!)

TEN sports, a sports channel in South Asia has started broadcasting Eredivisie. That's where I come in, I've decided to follow the league a bit, specially Ajax. Being a Barça fan, I've heard a lot about the club, the league and the world famous youth system of Ajax. Other than that I don't know much. Am looking forward to the first match, hopefully getting to see good exciting football.

If you're asking me then yeah, it's gonna be shown live and also repeats a couple of times throughout the week.

Yep it will be shown......Sopcast, tvAnts and another program will show it live

I was just checking setanta's schedule and I saw an entry for this thursday 8/23 that says 7:30am Eredivise - TBC To be confirmed. . What is this ???? is it a match? or just a highlites show?? it's only 1 hour long tho !!!

Looks to me to be a preview show for the 07/08 season.

Setanta in the UK are showing the first weekly highlights show tonight so I expect that's what you've got as well.

They're also showing the PSV/NEC game live on Saturday which is a good omen for showing future Ajax games.....

och sucks.. it looks like the north american schedule for setanta doesnt have any eredivisie fixture this saturday . oh wells....

Not an Ajax game but Setanta are showing a delayed broadcast of Roda v Feyenoord tonight at 7pm.

That's one PSV and one F-word game they'll have shown so far so we're up next I think. I just hope I can get the same TV package in my new house as I'm moving on Friday.......

That's good news, though, that they're still showing Eredivisie matches this season. I think it means that they've probably purchased the rights (and it's probably a similar deal as last year and they'll show a game a week, hopefully). If that's the case, probably not long for an Ajax match as last year it was pretty much games from the big 4.

I remember sending Setanta North America an email last year, just thanking them for carrying Eredivisie matches even though I know I'm in the minority as an American viewer and received a nice, unexpected reply. So it can't hurt to let them know that there are more people out there who want to see it.

I have digital cable which doesn't offer Setanta and I don't want a dish. So last year I subscribed to Setanta through ITVN, an IP TV service. The picture was alright, but I found ITVN to be a horrible company and didn't want to give them my money any longer. This year I'm subscribing to Setanta Broadband, but haven't put it to the test much yet. Those two digital options may be something to look into if you don't want (or can't) get Setanta the normal routes.

I'm hoping that the reason Setanta isn't showing more Eredivisie is because they are currently in the middle of the Rugby World Cup. Hopefully they'll start showing Eredivisie once that's over.
