Pienaar has already signed with Borussia, correct? I understood that he would play out the season with Ajax, but that the agreement and deal are already finalized and he will go to Borussia in the summer.

Not sure you can believe any press story on transfers until they have happened. Pienaar is reported to have agreed with Dortmund for the summer but I have read !!! that if Rosicky leaves in Jan then Pienaar could sign for them in Jan.Fingers crossed that he does go as I do not want players staying for the rest of the season who have already agreed to sign for other teams.

One thing is for sure we will be losing some players before the month is out.

Good riddance. It's one thing if a player plays out his deal and then leaves, no hard feelings or harsh words. It's another if he becomes a whining litttle shite.To those in the latter category, don't let the door hit you in the ass.

What does everyone think the team is going to look like at the start of next season?

Just read on the Ajax Netwerk forum that Martin van Geel said on Radio 1 that Charisteas, Lobont and Escudé can look out for a new club. He added that Ajax will always respect the contract of a player and that none of them has to go, but he said that these three won't see much playing time.

He didn't mention players such as Boukhari, Vonk and Anastasiou (their contracts also expire), but I guess he just assumed that everyone already knows that the same goes for them. Those three will definitely not get new contracts.

I think it is impossible to say what the team will be next season.

Of 27 first teamers at present we will definately lose the following

Vonk, Lobont, Trabelsi, Maxwell, De Jong, Pienaar, Anastasiou, and Escude.

The rest that may go are open to debate , on this site, but Charisteas, Boukhari and possibly Rosales could well be sold.

Juanfran may well go back to Spain and the press are suggesting that Grygera may go to Italy.( the same press probably that today states that Palermo would like Maduro!!!)

I reckon that we will lose about 12 players so we will need about 8 more to bring the squad up to 23. De Mul could well be back and Krohn-Dehli is definately back. Sarpong and possibly Schilder may be promoted from the reserves.

We will need to strengthen the defence and midfield with probably 3/4 new players.

The 15/16 probably left after 10/12 go would be

Goalies Steks , Vermeer( hardly played this season due to injury)


Defenders Heitinga Grygera Vermaelen Emanuelson & Juanfran ??


Mid field Galasek, Maduro, Sneijder, Lindenbergh,


Forwards Manucharyan, Babel ,Mitea, Rosenberg and KJH.


I hope that is a rough guide for a debate.

Not a bad side if you consider we are losing so many players. If we add a few pieces here and there then we are in the race for the top spot in the league.

Losing so many players... most of them, perfectly good players, are being forced out or shown the door. I'm fed up of this yearly cleanout and rebuilding, there's just no need for it. It's like taking two steps backwards and one forward, every year, year after year.

If Ajax still have shit up their ass they need to keep wiping.

It appears that Nourdin Boukhari never had an individual thread here on this forum. He won't need one either, because - as De Telegraaf reports - he will leave Ajax this season. His expiring deal will not be renewed. Martin van Geel's comment: "After a number of years you have to be a starter, but Nourdin can not make that last step. He was loaned out for a season and he was also moved to Young Ajax. We'd reached a point with him where there needed to be a decision."

That decision has now been taken: no new contract for Boukhari.

Well good luck to him and I hope he goes somewhere where he's appreciated a bit more. Pro footballer on a lot of money or not, for someone to get that amount of abuse for that amount of effort is really bad for him as an individual. I watched the NEC game highlights last night and to see the look on his face after he'd come off said it all.

And the next day he got this news from the club... The past few days have not been great for him. I feel sorry him. I really do. But this decision was inevitable and needed to be taken.

If we want to move to a higher level with Ajax, the 'Boukhari category' is the category of players we will need to offload.

Good luck to Boukhari. It's a pity that many of our current players are not as dedicated to the team as he is. He does not seem the kind to give up easily, so he will have more success sooner or later.

Well think that Ajax have made the right decision here. I do not rate him as a footballer at all - think he just does not have it and is certainly not up to the standard required at Ajax.

But as Ko stated the last few days for him must have been bad - no player however bad should have had to take the abuse that Boukhari took on Sunday. After, the events of Sunday and the following day I personally think Ajax should give the guy a week off to get his head together. I don't know how many people, irrespective of how much money they earn or how strong they mentally appear, could survive the fact that people are actually cheering as you lie injured and then get told the next day basically you are surplus to requirements. Bit of a head fuck if you ask me.

I wouldn't call Boukhari crap. He has a good technical level and he is able to see the options available to him. However, he fails to react quickly enough; not being decisive, more than anything, prevents Boukhari from being a top level player.

I have always been impressed with his commitment and enthusiasm. I wish him luck at his next club.

Then I have to say I agree with dws, so I'm gonna mellow what I said a little bit : Boukhari is no Ajax material and he failed too many times. Working hard is nice, but it's not a steel factory it's a football club, so it's all about talent and what you provide in the team.

So as far as I'm concerned, it's all about GOOD RIDDANCE.

I wish him well, he's an honest committed footballer, with what Blind has described as the best trap-techniek of all the Ajax players - so I think there will be a roll for him somewhere, where he will be better appreciated.

Perhaps in the Premieship, I could name ten teams there that could use him. Are you listening Steve Bruce?

One thing though, he needs to bulk up, get down the gym and pull some weights. He's too skinny and is knocked off the ball too easily.

More like the French Revolution - but I am not too sure who I would allocate out of the two to each of the red or white terror groups.

Speaking of the French revolution, the colours were blue for the republicans and white for the monarchists, but I understand why you have red and white on your mind.

I can be the third color if you want... :D

Otherwise, I perfectly agree with DWS about Boukhari. Not good enough but a really good guy, who deserves a little bit more respect... :roll:

Philippe, the phase of the revolution I was referring to was after the fall of the monarchy and in particular to the Jacobin faction, led by Robespierre, which took terror to the extreme. This was then reversed by the Thermidoreans to leave a more balanced ruling clique, although this did lead to the dictatorship of Bonaparte.
Which was labelled the red and which was labelled white I cannot remember - it was about 35 years ago that I studied this part of French history.
