With the Next Gen Series getting bigger and most U19's ie A1 youth team under contract this age group has a higher profile now. They started their season with a 5-1 win v Sparta in a friendly and this weekend play an Int.tourney in Eindhoven.
The Ajax OS lists 20 in this squad although Fischer is now with the 1sts.(Gravenberch another still eligible is with our Jong Ajax squad)
Squad is as follows
goalies; Leeuwenburgh,Alblas
defenders; Tete,Kuipers,Noordhoff,V Koesveld, Marinkovic(listed but may end up in the lower A2 team)
midfielders; El Hasnaoui, Keskin, V d Boomen, Anderson,Rosheuvel (the last 2 can play defence)
forwards; Lazic,Menig,Acolatse, de Bondt, Martina,Becker plus Bitter who was out injured for the whole of last season.
When you consider Fischer Gravenberch are forwards and eligible and Kishna an outstanding winger who has been out for 18 months is now nearly fully fit and will be in the A2 squad to start with their appears to be an overload of forwards.
Finally for the record only 4 of the above have no contract ie Alblas,Rosheuvel Kuipers, Martina.

Our A1 had a poor Otten Cup in Eindhoven.Lost to Anderlecht Barca, drew with Twente and finished 7th out of 8 beating Copenhagen. Given the squad is top heavy with forwards
and light on defenders we had forwards and midfielders being used in defence.

on Saturday they played their first competitive game the Super Cup v Heerenveen and lost 2-1 .They appear a team of forwards and not many defenders as Gravenberch a striker was central defender .

good win Gravenberch still playing CD even though he is a striker.Tete the highly rated RB is still serving a 7 match ban from last season when he punched an opponent.V d Boomen DMF also rated is injured.
7 of the players listed by Blind are in the Oranje U19 initial squad for 2 friendlies next month.
Leeuwenburgh,Gravenberch, Rosheuvel, Keskin,El Hasnaoui, de Bondt, Menig. V d Hart now the 3rd choice first team goalie is the 8th player in the squad.
Would point out Rosheuvel is the only one of last night's team without a contract.Given about 20 youths are contracted and he was a regular in the A1 squad last season and now in an Oranje U19 squad its a bit odd.
NB. reading the match report on OS Gravenberch went off injured and V d Boomen was used as a sub

Ajax A1 beaten by A1 Groningen: 3-0
01/09/12
Ajax A1 has the best league start no sequel can give. Visiting FC Groningen / sc A1, the team of coach Fred Grim 3-0 crashed. Ajax A1 was very bad for the day in Groningen. The victory of the good playing home team was therefore entirely deserved.
Positive point was the return of Kenny Tete and Ricardo Kishna. Tete, back after a lengthy suspension, played a good match. Ricardo Kishna stood half years along side with an injury in the second half and made its appearance. Kishna made an eager and healthy impression. Also Bas Kuipers was back in action after his injury sustained at the Otten Cup.
Setup Ajax A1:
Leeuwenburgh, Tete, Gravenberch, Van Koesveld (77. Kuipers), Rosheuvel; Noordhoff (46. VD Trees), El Hasnaoui, Becker, Keskin (61. Anderson), Becker (72. Kishna), Many, De Bondt (46. Acolatse).

Really good news about Kishna. Hope he can come back strong after being out for 18 months (I think) with a knee injury.

thanks for the report Blind. From what I have picked up Tete and Kishna are the top talents in this squad and the rest are ordinary.Wonderful to see Kishna playing again after 18 months out with a serious knee injury

the Next Gen Series starts for our A1 this week in Molde Norway on Weds.We also play CSKA Moscow and Chelsea. Lucas Andersen started his first day at Ajax today training with the U19's but not sure whether he will play at this level and certainly is unlikely to go to Norway.Fischer will play and de Sa and Sporkslede will be over age players as neither are involved for Jong ajax tonight
The Next Gen series will next year only invove clubs who are in the CL and thus imo money will take over and youth development takes 2nd place. This tournament was to develop youths by playing different foreign teams but sadly money will now take over.
Apart from Ajax I would say 2 of the best youth academies at present are Sporting Lisbon and some club from Rotterdam ,am I allowed to sort of praise FWord??? Clubs like this may not get into the Next Gen in future but will still produce kids that the English thieves want.( Barca is rated the best youth producer at present of course)

This is the dumbest move that I can even think of!!! Most CL football teams have terrible academies and rely on purchasing talent to fill out their rosters rather than develop it in house. I think SPL is correct about the money taking things over and we can probably see more raids on youth players if this competition generates a big payoff for the teams playing in the series. This is really too bad.

Ajax has already sent a letter to UEFA regarding that stupid reform. But still UEFA is there to defend money-bags, there's too much politics nowadays in football than sports.

I'm afraid that this is true and furthermore the FFP (financial fairplay) stuff will never really be enforced.

Even if it is enforced, clubs (like Man City) will find a way around the regulations.

That FFP is made to prevent clubs from going bankrupt like it happened to Fiorentina, Leeds, Rangers or Saturn. They will do nothing as long as club is safe and has financial backup in sponsorship contracts, TV revenue and etc. So nothing will affect PSG, Man City and Zenith. The only real thing that UEFA could possibly do is to enforce some player limitations like in Russia but such thing will affect fat cats greatly and will never happen.

currently playing in Molde in the Next Gen Series and coming up for HT we are 2-0 up de Sa and Fischer the scorers. No live streams but Lucas Andersen is making his debut in an Ajax shirt
lineup
V d Hart
Tete,Gravenberch,V Koesveld,Rosheuvel
Sporkslede, El Hasnaoui, Andersen
de Sa, Menig Fischer
subs Leeuwenburgh,Kuipers,Anderson,Keskin, de Bondt,Acolatse Noordhoff
Just to say Rosheuvel and Kuipers are the only 2 not under contract . Kuipers a defender played for the A2 youths last season but I have mentioned Rosheuvel before. A lot of games for A1 last season mainly used as a sub but a regular starter so far this season and in the Dutch U19 team last week. His agent ought to be asking why he is not under contract!

final score 5-0 Fischer a hattrick de Sa and Sporkslede 1 each
subs used in 2nd half Kuipers for Gravenberch, Noordhoff for V Koesveld, Keskin for El Hasnaoui, de Bondt for Menig and Anderson for Lucas Andersen.
should have added the tournament is for players born in 1994 or later but 2 born in 1993 thus Sporkslede and de Sa were the over age players.

if we kept all our star players we would have won the CL a few more times, maybe as many as Real.

Phew, if we could reunite all our former players who are still currently playing, you would come up with a pretty strong team I guess...

Unfortunately, it's just no longer possible. I see where PSG is now trying to do some kind of sponsorship deal in the same way Man City did that will bring the club €100/year. There is just no way that Ajax can ever compete against this kind of nonsense. Of course the big clubs are all going figure out ways to do something similar to skirt the FFP regulations.
