Newspaper De Telegraaf reports that 'Cape Town boys Thembinkosi 'Terror' Fanteni and Sameegh Doutie will return to South Africa without a contract. The two Ajax Cape Town players were on a try-out at Ajax and saw action in a number of pre-season friendlies (both players scored a goal). Striker Fanteni (23) has been deemed not good enough. Ajax will continue to follow wight winger Doutie, who is still young and might develop into a player of Ajax calibre.

Real Sociedad were a relegated club . I still think at the end of the day , they'll be a deal ...maybe 5 mil ...and Sociedad will get an infusion of cash money. Clubs always over value on the seller part and under value on the buyer part. No different than the Indian markets of Peru or the bazaars of Morocco that I've been to ,except the stakes are much higher.

I saw the same report , on Ajax Netwerk . I can't read Dutch to save my life , but I believe the report indicated Mitea plus four million euros for Prieto. The report also listed Prieto as a right wing. No sure what rock I've been living under , but I thought Prieto was a midfielder.

Also , a report on AN , with links to AT5 , indicated Groningen ( Hans Nijland) laughing at a purported 3.5 million euro bid for Luis Suarez.

Of course , these are just reports or rumours. I'll believe we've signed either player , or anyone , when it's official.

The latest from the Suarez camp , as reported by AN today, has the player indicating that Ajax would be a great chance for him. Seems that the player is willing to burn his bridges, going to an arbitrator is hardly a love note to FCG , to get his transfer. Today just reinforces him wanting out. I think FCG is just posturing to make themselves look like they tried their best when the player does go.

Mitea as a " make weight " . A 150 lb , with rocks in his pockets , make weight. Glad to see Ajax hasn't lost their sense of humour. If Real agree to this , they must really be cash strapped . And blind ,deaf, and dumb . I like Mitea , but he is so rarely fit . I almost checked to see if it was April 1st again.

Colin earns Ajax deal

Norwich defender Jurgen Colin is to return to his homeland after a successful trial spell at Ajax.

The 26-year-old right-back has been on trial at the Dutch giants and having been assessed by the club's coaching staff, has done enough to earn a permanent move.

Colin moved to Carrow Road from PSV Eindhoven but the lure of a return to the Eredivisie and one of its biggest sides has proved too much.

Ajax technical director Martin van Geel has confirmed that the player is to sign a one-year deal, with the option of a further two seasons.

"This we will complete in the next few days," van Geel told ANP

Colin seems quite an odd choice but I have to assume that the coaching staff know what they are doing. I was a bit doubtful about Gabri a year ago and he's worked out well.

Anyway, a free transfer on a one year deal would hardly be the biggest disaster if he's not up to it.

Yeah. Last season he signed a deal for five more years. I think that contract started this summer, as per 01 July. So he's got a contract 'til 2012, which is one of the main reasons why he's so expensive.

9.5 million euros is pretty outrageous, though. I would say 7 million is a reasonable price. But it's clear that Groningen don't want to sell. And I can't blame them. They just don't want to be fucked with - and they're 100% right.

Anyways: let's forget about this kid and buy Xabi Prieto instead. Price: 6.5 million. Let's give it to Sociedad instead (wasn't that his club?) and we have a deal.

Yeah I've been trying to look aroud everywhere for any Xabi Prieto news - but haven't found anything in the past few days.

This friend of mine (Athletic Bilbao fan) keeps telling me about how good Prieto is - so lets wait & see if we can get him. I think they should just give Soceidad their 6 mill & get this guy.
