Poor defending at the end of the half and Inter snatch a goal from nothing. About the only way the can score given their lack of quality in open play.

Red card on Mbaye seemed a little harsh as he was off balance going forward and I don't think there was intent to injure.

Full time 1-1; Inter were not impressive and Ajax couldn't really find the net today.

Watched the last 30 mins Inter looked typical of Italians ie anti football kick everything that moves.

Well it was an enjoyable day out even if we did lose. Ajax started very well and really should have won it, had what looked like a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside in the closing stages and dominated parts of the game as well.

Inter played up (down!!) to all the worst sterotypes with a lot of niggling fouls almost from the off but were well supported with quite a few Italian fans in attendance. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the PSV game hardly any support for Ajax and most were English rather than Dutch.

I'll try and write a fuller report tomorrow, a few of our players were very impressive I thought but apart from Klaassen I didn't really know any of them so will need to recheck squad numbers before passing comment (names on shirts have really spoilt me I know......)

Look forward to the "in person" report! It's amazing to me that a youth team would play as cynically at Inter but maybe in Italy they begin them young this way. Another reason for any good young player to come up through the Ajax academy.

AEGON FUTURECUP

This is a world event for U17 at de Toekomst (well that is the perfect venue) over the next 3 days. Man U Bayern Barca Milan are all sending teams and games are for 60 mins

Ajax have just beaten Besiktas 4-0 and very easy . I only caught the second half when loads of subs were used .

Of the regular Ajax B1 U17 team the only player missing is Tete ,rightback who is suspended. Apart from Lartey Sanniez who is replacing him the other 10 starters are regulars for our B1 U17 team . Lartey Sanniez is only 15 but Riedewald also 15 and V Bruggen just 16 have been playing in our B1 U17 team regularly ie they are a year younger .For 15 and 16 year olds the back 4 are giants

Anyway the only other game today for us is v ManU at 14.30 CET .We play a Brazilian team tomorrow then Monday is semis' and final.

Good to see someone else watching . We beat man U 1-0 with Acolatse scoring and are now in the semis. We play a Brazilian team tomorrow in the final group match but the result will be of no importance . Semis and final on Monday .

The starting lineup for Man U saw Warmendam for Bakker and Verburg at LB for Papermelodias .Verburg is another U 16 so all the backline was under 16 .They did well against a physical Man U team.

Becker who looks a good player went off injured so hope he will be fit for the semi.

I liked the way the team pressed all over the field. They ran out of gas in the last 15-20 minutes, probably because of playing two matches in one day (even though they were 60 minute games). Acolaste looked quite fine on the left wing and Mendig had a couple of good chances that were saved by the ManU keeper. Defense looked quite poised given the age of the squad.

just watched the last group game a 0-0 draw v Desportivo Brazil Not a very good game and the Brazilians were down to 10 men early in the second half. Becker ,our main forward was rested and again Menig looked lively and was probably our best player but that is not saying much . Cakmak and sub left winger V d Linden looked lively also but no real clear cut chances. V d Boomen was again the only midfielder who looks ok in this team but he should be as along with Becker they are the only 2 who have contracts. V d Boomen only came to us last summer from Willem!

The defence coped easily again and have only been tested in the Man U game. There only appears to be 5 defenders in this squad and as I have said 4 of them are U16's.None looked outstanding but Riedewald looks like he could develop,he is not 16 until the end of the year . At the end V Bruggen,the only Ajax player so far booked got away with a penalty.

I will be interested to see after this tournement whether any of the players gets a contract for next season. From what I have read from the youth experts Tete the right
back,who is suspended is the only one of the U17 age group. I watched our U17's back in January playing in Qatar and he impressed me.

Of the strikers Menig looks good enough to get a contract but next season in our A1 youth attack there will be current A1 players Gravenberch, de Bondt and Lazic plus hopefully 2 lads both under contract who have missed all season ie Kishna and Bitter .Becker ,Menig Cakmak and Acolatse of this squad will have plenty of competition in the A1 youths next season.

I have read that about 4 regular U17's squad players are missing and we have 6x U16's playing and indeed 4 of them are not 16 until next season so there is clearly more talent at U16 level although this is basically in defence.

Semi is in the morning at 9.30 CET .I wont be getting up at 8,30 over here so will miss it .Not sure yet who we play.

Anyhow given this game started at 8.30 here ie 9.30CET I did not get up to watch . The final v Man U is at 15.00 CET so will be watching and hope we can beat them again.

Strange first half. Ajax had the better of the play in the first 20 minutes pressing and creating chances. First goal conceded was the result of several bad defensive plays and the second a weak pass and slip on the part of the Ajax defender. Pitch looks to be in bad shape because of the rain with numerous players slipping and sliding. coming back from a 0-2 deficit will be difficult.

Edit: we've equalised two minutes before final whistle and won on pennos 5-3.

Entertaining match decided on penalties. Too bad the pitch was in such bad shape as I think both teams had some quality players who really couldn't demonstrate all their abilities. It will be interesting to see which Ajax players progress through the system. It looks like we finally have some tall players!

good win especially as Manu players are nearly all 17 and we had 15 year olds out there. An AJAX team winning 2penalty play offs in a day!!

That's it 2 out of 2 in the penalties!!! How about that?

And scoring 5 out of 5 penalties in the final! You don't see that very often with a Dutch team.

our A1 team play Fword this afternoon in de Kuip .The game should take place tomorrow in Fword's training ground but because of security they are playing it in an empty de Kuip .

With 3 games to go our A1 are 5 points ahead of second place Fword so a win today would mean the title.

Our C1 team U 15's won their league last week and our B1 U 17 were on course to do likewise however winning the Aegon cup seems to have taken it out of them as they have lost 2 games in the last week. with 2 games to go they are still 1 point clear of Heerenveen but tomorrow play Fword at Fword training complex! Good luck to them .

well a bad day for our A1 they lost 5-3 v Fword . With 2 games to go our A1 are still 2 points ahead of Fword . We were 3-1 up after an hour but Fword got 2 penalties seems as if the second one after 83 mins with the score 3-3 was abit iffy . Anyway after the Next gen games it does seem as if our A1 lads are getting very tired ,they were evidently lucky to win last saturday . With 26 league games about 4 cup plus 8 Next gen thats nearly 40 games and of course several play at Int youth level .
