He is Russia citizen but he is Georgian by nationality

A little blurb from Ajax.nl on Grigalava:

Gia Grigalava will stay on trial with Ajax for two extra weeks. The 19 year-old Russian defender has been in training with Young Ajax for one week and saw action in Young Ajax's friendly against the first team of First Division outfit Excelsior, in Rotterdam (3-2).

"As a footballer he's making a good impression," says Young Ajax coach Adrie Koster. "During the upcoming traing sessions and Tuesday, in our friendly against FC Lisse, we will pay special attention to his purely defensive qualities."

Grigalava is a player of SKA Rostov, who play at the second level of Russian football. He can play in the heart of defence, but also at left fullback.

From what I've heard this dude is physically strong and a good tackler. Sounds like the type we can use. I didn't know Young Ajax will play FC Lisse tonight (Hoofdklasse side), by the way. Nice one.

Reserves won 5-3 at Liesse , Castillion scored 2, Jongebloet 2, and Danilo Sousa Campos 1.

Obviously not easy as Castillion scored 2 goals and only came on after 75 mins.

Apau is a fringe A1 player but we do appear to have played alot of forwards
as 8 of those are forwards. Considering Kennedy could have played and also Lewis ,the South African forward and also Zeegelaar should now be playing regularly.

Point I am making we need to get rid of some of them.

The young Russian Grigalava is not being offered a contract.

Also just announced that Renaldo Jongebloet , a striker has been loaned to Haarlem for the rest of the season. He has not got much playing time for the reserves this season so good luck to him.

This was just a run out for several first teamers who sit on the bench.

By the way: NEC have officially contacted Ajax, because they are interested in signing John Goossens.

I don't know what to think of that.

I've always thought that Goossens is a major talent, but on the other hand: he seems unable to make that final step to the first squad... Maybe it would be interesting to loan him out, but I'm not sure if that's what NEC are after. Perhaps they want to buy.

Is perhaps also Javier Martina going? cause the guy has disappeared after the only (good) game he had in first team. and his contract is expiring, I think..

AN says Stanton Lewis is on trial with a Danish club, F.C. Nordsjaelland.

Martina is on the transfer list ,contract is indeed expiring in June. So far no concrete interest but an unnamed Spanish 2nd div team and an English Championship team have evidently looked at him . He was only given 60 mins v Twente and set up the first and important goal then dropped.

Goossens has scored a few goals for the reserves this season in spite of playing left back a lot.I thought he should be loaned out but at present he looks like he wont make it at Ajax.

Bodul is suspended, and Classen back in South Africa playing u20 international.

Out of 15 official listed Jong Ajax players only Goossens,as a left back again and Danilo started.( Castillion and Kappelhof are officially A1 youths)

There is another reserve game this Thursday Cup v Fword reserves and I doubt many more of our Jong players will start as Gentenaar Kennedy and Silva will need games and Lindgren may play to prove his fitness.

By Thursday 5 of tonights team could be gone, Goossens ,Martina, Anita,
plus Leo and even Oleguer is attracting interest form Russia!

PS If Manucharyan goes by Thursday it will be a miracle unless Ajax do the sensible thing and pay him off. Trouble is Van Geel gave him a contract extension to 2011 last season , surely one of the most stupid decisions by this club.

Final score v AZ 3-0 win , Danilo Sousa Campos scored 2, and Castillion the other.

2 subs used Hasselbaink for Leonardo 63 mins,

Manucharyan for Castillion 82 mins.(hope 8 mins was not too long for him!)

John Goossens appears on his way to Twente,just saw it on one site but nothing confirmed. The guy has not had a chance with us so going somewhere else seems the best idea.

Going back to Monday's game I watched the highlights on Ajax Tv and was impressed with the way Castillion took his goal. He is a very big powerful 17 year old and I have a feeling he will be in the first team squad next season. I jumped the gun the other night by stating Danilo got 2 goals as in fact Leonardo scored one.

Fianlly we are playing a reserve cup match at this minute v Fword and we are 1-0 down just on halftime.

As expected Gentenaar and Kennedy are taking the places that should be going to youngsters.

Bad news we got beaten 2-0 by Young F-word tonight in de Kuip.

We finished with 6 regular A1 youth players.

The 3 subs used being Zeegelaar 46 mins for Schell, Castillion 46 mins
for Manucharyan, and making his debut for the reserves Rodney Sneijder 64 mins for MacIntosh.

Bodul still suspended.

I know ideally we want the reserves to win every game and with a first team squad of 30, if fit!! we could play 11 first teamers every week and do so but surely the reserves should be for developing future players.

Older players coming back from injury need to be played and fringe first teamers like Sarpong , de Jong, Sno, Martina all youngsters .

As much as I hate the fact that we ended up losing to the lowest form of football life( a team from Fword ) I am pleased to see 6 kids getting a game.Sneijder and Castillion are both 17 year olds and highly rated( Real Madrid and Arsenal would have liked to have signed them )and should now get regular games.

With Goossens now looking to have left Zeegelaar, a left winger, ought to start every reserve game for the rest of the season.

Bad news about F-word, the surprising news is that Manucharyan lasted 46 minutes..or did he go off injured?

I just saw Stanton Lewis has returned to his old club Ajax Cape Town. He was on trial in Denmark but he got injured.Like Goossens this has not been officially confirmed on the official site but the club are having a clear out of reserves.

PS I doubt we will get rid of Manucharyan, still he did last 45 mins tonight.

Lewis has officially been loaned back to Ajax Cape Town for 1 and a half years ,which is the length of his remaining contract with us.

Reserves won 2-0 v Willem Tilburg. Darko Bodul , back after suspension scored both goals.The team actually looks like a proper young team!

Maybe he should just play this entire squad?

Bodul cannot be far off getting in the first team squad as Leo is the only spare forward.I do not know why we have been left so light on forwards !!

Incidently , I should have waited for the official site report as Castillion did come on after 85 mins for MacIntosh.

Next week 2 league games are listed , which is very odd timing as there are Internationals at all age levels.

I think Bodul was suspended because of a red card or something. So I guess that's why he couldn't be included.

I agree with everyone though - he needs to be put on the bench at least.

As this match is in Rotterdam, just like the cup game a couple of weeks a go lets hope we can win.

I did think that with lots of youth internationals this week we would be without several of our youngsters but in fact the only 2 reserve team squad missing because of internationals are Danilo, and I assume Manucharyan( unless he is injured again !)

The only 2 A1 youths not available are Sneijder, who is injured, and Castillion , with Dutch U18's .

Great result we won 1-0 in De Kuip. Kennedy scored the only goal , a penalty after 76 mins.

subs used Hasselbaink for Bodul 46 mins. Schell for Zeegelaar on 70 and Kappelhof for Oleguer on 70 .Looks like Oleguer will be available for Sunday with Vermaelen picking up an injury for Belgium.

Evidently the game was held up in the second half when fireworks were thrown by the scum home supporters who were chanting Gas the Jews as usual.

I am sure more will come of this firework incident but I do wonder what the Fword fans have to do to get their ground closed. The chanting of gas the jews should result in their ground being closed down. But they have got away with it for years.
