Yeah, it's worth to try, but you don't have surety, that Villarreal will agree for that. Kromkamp plays better in every single game and he is younger than Trabelsi. There is one more important fact- Kromkamp is from Holland (=EU nation). In Spain is a foreign players limit still. I don't know if Trabelsi has a second nationality (maybe he has, after few years in Holland), so it means that one of Villarreal's non-EU players will go on a bench. Do you know if Forlan, Riquelme or other Villarreal players has second nationality? We may try, but I don't know if it will be any effect...

That would be such a dream but, he is cup tied for the champions league and I dont think he would want a massive pay cut. But who knows...btw its Kromkamp*
sorry about the spelling. To lazy to check

I'm not too worried about him being cup tied; lets's face it , with or without Trabelsi , Ajax will need a huge slice of luck to advance beyond round two of the champions league.
In Spain is a foreign players limit still
Unlike the Dutch, the Spanish are not averse to handing out passports if it can be of benefit to their football clubs. They may not give one to trabelsi , but more likely to to a longer serving non qualified player.

BLUES EYE THE KUYT
Chelsea have reportedly enquired about Feyenoord's £12million-rated striker Dirk Kuyt, while the Blues are also said to be watching Ajax's Nigel De Jong.

That would not be a bad idea, if we sign Huntelaar or Kluivert that is.

According to "Tribal Football" Manchester City is ready to buy Tomas Galasek. They want to do that this winter and are ready to spent 3 mln euro for him.

If it's true I think it will be great deal- Galasek is old player and he will be out of contract on summer.

Pienaar has been linked with Koeman again yay..
Well I'd say sell these two this winter NOW for money and munchies

Reports are stating that De Jong has said no to a new contract and will join Moan U.

So that makes the following certain to leave by next summer.

De Jong Pienaar, Maxwell Trabelsi. Lobont Escude Charistaias Vonk Anastasiou,Heitinga. Probably Galasek Boukhari. Juanfran should be kicked out now and as mentioned on another post I think Grygera will leave. Rosales would be no loss.

14 out of 26.

Trabelsi to Arsenal, Maxwell to Inter

ARSENAL RETURNS TO TRABELSI
The Sun reckons that Arsenal are ready to launch yet another bid to sign Ajax defender Hatem Trabelsi. The Gunners have repeatedly been linked with the Tunisian defender and were thought to be on the verge of signing the £4m-rated Trabelsi in the summer of 2004. According to The Sun, the 28-year-old 'can go in January for £2.5m. Or the Gunners can risk losing out by waiting until next summer when he will be available on a free. The player would have no problem getting a work permit as he is a regular for his country.'

Inter Close in on Maxwell
Internazionale are reported to have beaten Serie A rivals Juventus to the signature of Ajax star Maxwell. The Brazilian has already indicated that he will leave the club when his contract expires in Amsterdam at the end of the season.

Juve have been keen on the defender but the latest reports from Italy say that Inter officials have met with the player and offered him a four-year deal. Maxwell will not be leaving Ajax until the summer so Inter have plenty of time to conclude a deal, but they are wary of other clubs trying to sign the player. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is a keen admirer of Maxwell and could try and snatch him from under the noses of the Italians.

- Sounds like Wenger will do all his "Christmas Shopping" at Ajax and not at Harrods!

The same story about Trabelsi and Arsenal was on Tribalfootball site word for word.I imagine that the English press have far more transfer rumors than the rest of the world put together.

I have also noted that Benfica are interested in Lobont and Pienaar.

A lot of these type of reports appear on the news articles on Ajax Netwerk. It has a section where reports from all sorts of sources are linked either from dutch sites and papers or english speaking sites and papers.

Football transfer rumors are a big thing in Uk and fill the papers etc. Nearly all are garbage.

PS I quoted De Jong to say no to a new contract from the above source yesterday.

According to Studio Sport Ajax will no longer play those players who have turned down contract renewals, namely Trabelsi, Pienaar, Maxwell and De Jong.

The NOS.nl website later added that this goes primarily for Trabelsi and Pienaar. De Jong could end up in the same situation if he keeps refusing to extend his deal.

So, what about this then? I'm not sure what to think...

I can't believe this. And who will replace Trabelsi, De Jong and Pienaar for the coming games ?
How is it possible to make decisions like this in our already rather disastrous situation ?

I'm actually OK with this (for reasons various people have said on this and other threads).....BUT ONLY IF REPLACEMENTS ARE BROUGHT IN IN THE WINTER BREAK!

(Sorry for shouting...... )

The replacements though have got to be of an equal or better standard as the last thing we need is a noble gesture which ends up with Intertoto football next year.

I say, who really needs them two if theyre unsettling the squad. However, was this the best thing for Ajax to do?

I hope De Jong signs, cmon KID you still got "lots to learn"

I am 100 % behind the club on this . I actually made this point on a posting a week or two ago. Trabelsi and Pienaar will not be available for 6 games in Jan /Feb and therefore we will need to replace them for those games. These players do not want to stay here so ok I would not play them . Sadly the same will go for De Jong if he does not extend.

The club have cocked up big time in letting these 3 enter the last year of their contracts and are now trying to get some money in JAN.

As we are having a bad season results wise I do not think playing Heitinga at right back, Rosales instead of Pienaar and Lindenberg instead of De Jong will make much difference. I know most of you would prefer the 3 who are going but can we do any worse without them. Ignore the CL where we beat 2 piss poor teams, but our current form in the league is the worst for many years. We cannot do any worse by not playing these 3.They do not want to be here so sell them and move on.We have to rebuild the sqaud and this is the first step.

As for Maxwell does anyone know when he will be fit to play? If he can play again in January then hopefully we can sell him then.

PS The club are thank goodness already looking to those who run out in 2007 with Sneijder, Vermaelen extending and Mitea and Grygera still talking so hopefully the club is learning .

I'm with you on that. I can't see things getting worse (and frankly they could get better with a team all pulling in the same direction without playing the want-aways). If we do play these 2 (3) then it'll be just as much for their benefit I feel now that they are well and truly in the shop window. It might actually force the issue and get us a sale in January (with the World Cup in the summer is Trabelsi for example going to want to stagnate in the reserves and miss out on Germany?).

The other point I'd make is that, even agreeing that the replacements (that we already have) will be of lower quality, that will not necessarily be so much an issue if spirit/morale improves. As Greece for example last year proved, it's not always the teams with the best individual talents who do the business...team-work and bonding as a unit go a long way as well.

Now that Pienaar and Trabelsi will almost certainly leave Ajax in January, it will be interesting to see whether Nigel de Jong signs a new deal, personally I think this is emotional black mail, because the world cup is around the corner and de Jong must play first team football to be in contention. He is only 20 and should sign, if he does leave I hope we wont freeze him out and I think its in his own interest to stay in Holland, maybe go to PSV at the end of the season, I know alot of Ajax fans will go up in arms when i say this, but its not as if Ajax players havnt gone directly to PSV from Ajax e.g Koeman, Wouters, Vink.

P$V signed wouters from Bayern.

Vink was signed from Genoa.

Only Koeman signed directly from Ajax.

I think what the club is doing is fucking disgusting and probably illegal.

They could have signed Pienaar and De Jong on long contracts last season but the board decided to hold out and now they are blaming the players for their own stupid mistake.

An employee has a right not to renew his contract, I'd say Pienaar and De Jong have a case for workplace discrimination if they wanted to take it to the courts.

And never mind that we really need these guys in the Champions League.

Bad decision all round, for all parties involved.

I really hate the board.
