According to De Telegraaf the Elia deal won't happen.
The player was interested, but Ajax wanted a loan and the Germans were only interested in selling.

and we've lost players like ozbiliz and jozefzoon who were good material IMO (much more than ebecilio and lukoki)

I think you're right regarding the Eredivisie, the competition doesn't seem strong this year.

But we're friggin' Ajax, I want us to get somewhere in a European competition.... not just be a provincial bit player in Europe.

To put things in perspective, the transfer fees of Bale and Ozil combined are greater than Ajax's revenues from last season!

While that's true, it's a little misleading, for example, the bale transfer is spread over 5 years, and a loan was secured to cover it. Although we couldn't do that, it does t exactly show that they have much more in the bank (even though they do)

If we have to believe to the rumors, the Elia deal would have costed 4 mln.
But Ajax only wanted a loan with an option to buy.

we have signed our first ever Chinese player Chengkuai Wang an attacking midfielder born Jan 1995 on a 2 year contract from 1st Sept 2013 to 1st Sept 2015. He has been on trial for a while and comes on a free contract as his last club has gone bust.He will be joining Jong Ajax and was recommended by our old friend Henk Ten Cate.

Didn't the club do some type of visit to China within the past several years with the goal of building some type of relationship over there? I seem to remember this happening.

Not sure of the details but you are right we have been building relationships and possible partnerships in China.

Well the January transfer period is getting closer and today's rumours coming out from Germany is that we may get Luuk de Jong on loan from BMG. Like so many young Dutch talents he left the country too soon and took the German money but has struggled over there. He is a striker but if he came we still need a proper winger . Overmaars hints at only loan players to come in so maybe we will try for Elia or Ola John again ! FDB and the rest of the TH see A1 youths like Acolatse ,Becker,Menig all coming through next season.

I don't want Luuk, he's not as good a footballer as Siem. Cuenca is supposedly back from injury now and I cannot see him getting much playing time at Barca. maybe it's worth another try with him. Ola John has been transfer listed by Benfica; I guess it hasn't worked for him in Portugal at all.

Rumours about Tom Ince, these are going around for quite some months now.

If he has turned down £40K a week he probably wants to go for a very good career pad instead of the money.

May be Ince just thinks that c CL-club can pay more money...

Or he may be eager to try some CL-footie.

Id prefer to sign Johnny Heitinga for the defensive midfield role, perhaps Blind and Klaassen can play along side him in midfield, would be good. But our priority is a left wing, i think I want Ola John from Benfica, since Elia is getting minutes for his club Weder Bremen
