Why the move?

This is everywhere in the media and it sounds as if it's true...

Defender Jürgen Colin, 26 years old, will be tested by Ajax. The Utrecht native is a product of the PSV youth system. He made his Eredivisie début for NAC Breda, then moved abroad to Racing Genk (Belgium) and Norwich City (England), where he spent the last two seasons (58 appearances, almost all of them as a starter). He's a right-footed fullback, who can also play in central defense. Henk ten Cate was his coach at NAC in 2002-2003.

Colin will go in training at the ArenA on Thursday and will be given three weeks to convince the staff and win a contract.

We do have John Heitinga and , in a pinch , Gabri who can play there if necessary. That said, better to leave Heitinga in the center and Gabri in mf. Better to get quality cover for RB. No harm bringing Colin in to see if he can fit that bill . Next , cover for rw.

They can, but it isn't their strongest position. Heitinga play's the best on defending midfielder, Anita attacking, central and defending midfield. Gabri right/defending midfielder en Van de Wiel central defender. Ogararu is the only real right back. I think besides one real right back you have to got another one.

It seems that the Bojan Krkic interest is coming back, especially if babel might leave.

There's also talk of the possibility of a transfer to Ajax regarding a lad named Prieto Xabi

Well if the London media is to be believed Babel will be gone by the end of today or tomorrow morning at the latest. So certainly Ajax will have cash to splash, but I'm hoping that Edgar Manucharyan won't be over-looked in the rush to sign new forwards.

This is his season, everyone seems convinced of his talent, but it's now or never. This has to be his breakthrough season or it's all over for him at this level.

I wonder if Babel's departure (assuming he does in fact leave) won't be a good thing for Perez (assuming he stays). IIRC Perez can play on the left wing, even if he offers a different style from Babel. I quite fancy him whipping in good balls to KJH.
