Hey guys just some help required.
So I am buying a gift for a mate(B-Day) he is a big Ajax fan.
So I need to decide which of the Home shirt version it will be
I am stuck between this years shirt and last years Home version.
Any advice would be appreciated.
I like the collar on last years , and this years is great as well.
I also noticed that the Aegon sponsor looks more pushed up on this years as opposed to last.
(I did think that last years sponsor print was a tad to low-but that could be me)
Cheers

I'm hoping someone can help with this years home shirt. Adidas seem to have been messing around with sizes the last couple of seasons with last years away shirt and the home shirt from the year before being a bit small (ie. tight

).
Haven't seen the home shirt anywhere so will get one on the www - can anyone tell me whether they're the "correct" sizes this year - cheers.

Maybe it's time to start doing a little jogging?

lol, but then the others would be too big. I was heading for the XL department but having a 2 year old keeps you fit and stops you slouching around so I'm "only" a large now.

Does anybody know if the fan shop (at the Arena or on Kalverstraat) still has last year's shirts at discount? I've got a friend in NL for a few days, and I'm tempted to have him pick me up a shirt. But no fucking way I'm paying 70E for a football shirt. I'm one cheap bastard.

Don't know about the ArenA shop but I spotted these online earlier. I doubt you'll get one cheaper in Amsterdam and postage to USA is £3.50.....

The question for most sellers is how low can you go?
I always buy my Ajax jerseys a year late anyways. More worthwhile. I don't buy round necks as I dislike them and that would mean I won't be buying one next year!
£22.99 shipped in the UK or £25.49 shipped ROTW seems the cheapest in the previous post
So what about
£19.99 shipped in the UK and £21.99 ROTW for a 09-10 home jersey??
In case my link ceases working, try item number 270570951921 on eBay... .
I'm off to buy myself one... .

I got my jersey in the post today and I have to say I'm very disappointed by the build quality. I haven't bought an Ajax jersey in years since I only like the collared versions. I pass over round necks.
The logos are ALL heat transferred and look really flimsy!
Does anyone else have last year's jersey purchased from perhaps a club store or something? Can you take a couple of pictures of the inside seams? And Where it's made in?

Mate i have the home collared jersey from last year.
The only heat transferred logo is the sponsor name Aegon.
The Adidas & Ajax logos are stitched,
I just played a game and threw it in the wash, I will post some pics for you, if you still need.
Question where did you purchase it from?
Cheers

I got mine off eBay as pointed out in my posts above. It stated as genuine. The tags were also genuine adidas tags and they checked out with my local adidas. I've gone to an Australian Adidas HQ which is in Melbourne and spoken to them and they looked over it assuring me it's genuine.
This though has made me very dissapointed in the quality of jerseys today.
OK, so both the Aegon logo and the Amsterdam coat of arms are heat transferred.
What's the material like? My wife who does the washing commented that it seems cheap and fairly thin compared to the centenary one from season 2000 and the 2001 versions. The heat transfer for the Aegon logo compared to substantial pop up of the ABN Ambro ones.
Made in Vietnam was stunning for me.
All my other Ajax jerseys were made in Morocco.
Where are yours made in?

I think you've got a fake shirt there. I haven't bought this years home shirt yet but have seen it and it's no different in quality from all the other years that I do have. I've seen the Ajax shirts on Ebay, this seasons, listed in Australia and around £20.00 to buy and to me the price and the fact that they only sell medium or XL sizes is a dead give away.
Also, no ffence to anyone you spoke to at Adidas but unless they worked in the quality control department or similar I'm not sure an ordinary employee would really know a fake from a geniune shirt.
I always steer clear of anywhere that only offers XL or medium btw as I've noticed that the fakes only seem to come in those sizes.
Another way of checking if it's geniune Adidas btw is to look at the labels inside. The Adidas shirts in Europe all have an Adidas Europe HQ (in Amsterdam) address on th wash label and there's also a much smaller label (about 1cm x 1.5cm) which includes a number code and the date (in the form of 09/10 for example) with a pattern on the other side.
Hope that helps

I personally think that the material for the latest shirts is a lot different from the 2000 ones, they are a lot thicker, than any i can remember in recent memory.

They're tough to obtain. This is as close as I could find for you...
Adidas AJAX Football Soccer Shirt JACKET. Little pricey perhaps.

Thanks. But it's a jacket and not a jersey. It seems that long sleeves shirts are unavailable. Strange.

I think it is this way for kits from most other teams as well. Here in the US the major Internet store has mainly short sleeve shirts with only a few notable exceptions (Barca, Milan being the two most prominent). Over the years, I've only seen the short sleeve Ajax tops for sale.

I've believe I've seen a few long sleeve shirts on ebay occasionally from the last few years (I think I remember Suarez/Huntelaar as they are usually new, have all the patches/official printing and pricier).
Just throwing that in there, but with ebay it would seem to be the kind of thing were you need to check every now and then and see what's available.
