Why?
If he comes as free transfer, for 1 year contract it's not so bad.
It kind of a good thing to have an experienced back up striker, specially if he is big(1.93) and can be very helpful in corners/free kicks situations when coming to the pitch in the last couple of minutes.
Just to remind you, he did scored 21 goals for den haag last season.
Think about that..

I'd rather have Pantelic back haha but this guy will be alright as a back up, 1 year contract isnt a huge punt.

Every year it seems like the same story -- never enough attention paid to the back line. I hope it doesn't come back to haunt us over the course of the year.

Having a "battering ram" type forward will be very useful in certain types of games where the other team "gangs up" on the smaller creative players. For years I have felt it was a mistake not to have this style of a player to counteract that.

Losing Ruiz to Fulham doesn't qualify as "a better job in the last day." The other thing to remember is PSV got a bailout from the city of Eindhoven otherwise they wouldn't have a Euro to spend. They are fast becoming a "mini-Real Madrid." If they fail to qualify for CL football next season things will go down hill.

With Tim matav on board, light bulbs are force to be reckoned , the only real place where we can say we are better is at centre back, but even then, they have at least kept a clean sheet, we haven't. As far as twente are cocnerned, even losing Ruiz they are still a strong team. Remeber Ruiz was injured for a long time and they were competitive nonetheless.

I might be in the select few that is OK with the Bulykin signing, he's big and different to what we have, also he has a decent goal record in the league. Now i think in the last few hours we should offload El Ham in a swap deal for a defender.

Clearly Ajax need a centre back. I have 3 in mind. They are as followed:-
Moisander (AZ)
Chivu (Inter)
Granqvist (Groningen)

My first choice would be Granqvist, if not then Chivu as for Moisander, he has stated clearly that he wants a move abroad, so its unlikely he will ever return to Ajax.

No offense, but they're all shit. Chivu is not the old Chivu anymore since he's playing with that helmet. Sloooooooooooow.

Denswil is coming!

My 3 would be:

Zanka- Kobenhavn
Vlaar- Feyenoord
Donk- Brugge

Ryan Donk is a long shot, but he's an Amsterdammer and might be cheap. Zanka would be my #1 choice but Vlaar is excellent also.

Granqvist has not long signed for Genoa so we won't get him. Chivu, as much as I loved him, is past his best and not the same player after his injury.

I confess you I like Anders Bjelland (Nordsjaelland), national CB for Denmark NT...

I would go for Bjelland too, he is called the new daniel agger here in denmark.. besides zanka is out for about 6 to 9 month..
