Danilo Sousa Campos did not play but he played and scored the winner for our A1 youths on Saturday v PSV.

I was at the arena for that game, and we did not play well to say the least. Except for Vermeer (whe made a brilliant save), Anita and Sarpong.

Thanks for your comments. If you go to any other games we would be delighted for your comments. I just record the details as I think our reserves are important but it would be good to get feed back from someone watching them.

It will be good to monitor the progression of our two young center backs as well. Alderweireld played against Inter during the Amsterdam tournament and looked quite promising. Maybe our defensive problems will be solved as he and Blind mature!

For the record 3 subs were used Schell for Martina 71mins, Jongebloet for Bodul 76 mins and Kappelhof for Delorge 87 mins. Gossens missed the game with suspension and Daley Blind was injured with the Dutch u19's.

Reserves lost 4-3 to NEC Martina scored 1 and Goossens scored 2.

Official site listed Goossens as left back !! Randel Shakison,18 year old is the A1 left back.(I would imagine Supusepa played left back as usual with Anita in defence and Goossens left side of midfield)

Poor Edgar. Sadly, I think it's best Ajax call time on his Amsterdam stay. At least Ajax 1 got some production from Mitea. It doesn't seem possible with Manucharyan.

I see Manucharyan is not in our list of 36 listed players by Uefa for the Uefacup. Geoffrey Castillion , a 17 year old striker from our A1 youth team is in the names.

The reserves in the list are Padt,Alderweireld, Blind, Supusepa,

No one even wanted Edgar on loan , probably because he hardly ever completes a game.Ajax extended his contract last season to 2011, which at the time seemed generous.Now it seems plain stupid.

It might have something to do with the requirements for homegrown/youth players

Homegrown does account for some of these fringe players on the list but Bodul is not homegrown!!

I don't see why Manucharyan is still with the team. He seems to get injured just by getting out of bed in the morning. I feel for the guy, but still. If his body can't cope, then Ajax shouldn't be paying him to be a professional athlete.

Finally a win 5-1 v AZ in Alkmaar Bodul scored 3, Claassen and de Jong the others.

Like last week Goossens was listed as left back, I believe he did play in that position last week . The only real left back in the reserves is Supusepa but he was not playing tonight.( there are no real left backs in the first team !! )

Goossens indeed played left back last week according to Highlow.

Watched the 11 plus minutes of highlights Jong AZ v. Jong Ajax on Ajax TV. Awesome stuff. Three nice , and opportunistic , goals by Darko Bodul. Looks like he has some poacher instincts.

That's a great result. Young Ajax had a shit start in the league, but they seem to be recovering a bit and are now 7th.

Good news: Gabri returned to action for Young Ajax. Don't know for how long he played, but if he got through this game okay he may be ready for this weekend's Heerenveen match.

I checked the Ajax.nl match report and they had Christian Supusepa coming on for him in the 60th minute.

Also, Ajax Netwerk indicated that Gabri, Danilo, Bodul, and Rommedahl were our goal scorers.

Also, in the Ajax.nl line out, De Lorge is again listed as having played CB, John Goossens is again listed in the LB slot, and Daley Blind is again listed in the midfield.

Looking at the Utrecht lineup last night only 1of the 5 players signed from our youth ranks this summer played.Erixon Danso.

Vito Wormgoor was of course under contract with us and a reserve but Danso is one of 4 players who left our A1 youth team in the summer without being offered a contract and has joined Utrecht under contract. Ismo Vostermans and Kevin Huijsman plus Rafael Uiterloo , who unlike the others still had one more year left as a youth but has already played for their first team.

Out of interest the other players who left our youth team last summer ,having played for the A1 team, and obtained contracts elsewhere are Frank Olijve and Daryl Lachman with Groningen, Joel Tillema at Den Haag. One other regular at A1 level last season Leonardo Resida is now playing for the Ajax Saturday amateurs.

Glad to see that someone in the red and white is winning. A left back scoring 2 of the three goals; pretty unusual.
