Totally agree with this. We just keep growing our bank balance, but its pointless if we don't spend any of it. Also I don't think any of us get the big picture about having 140 million in the bank.

With the increasing transfer fees and the fact that Ajax will have to raise their salary cap and contract more youth players, this is really not much of cushion. Mind you, I'm not advocating spending it all on Paul Pogba but say they double the salary cap to €2M. It's possible that there are maybe 15 players at the cap right now. Add in 2-3 transfers at €10M and you are now under €100M. If Ajax fail to qualify for CL you lose some more money and now there is an issue of reserve going down.

The first Ajax player that Frank de Boer wants to sign is Kenny Tete, this is worrying as his agent is Mino Riola, hopefilly if Ajax qualify for the UCL, then he would have the inclination to stay at Amsterdam. http://www.sempreinter.com/2016/08/08/f ... d-de-boer/

Italian press just say Tete and Bazoer would be great signings along with Klaassen.The Dutch press say these wont leave this month.Klaassen has said he wont wont leave, and Bazoer has higher aims than Inter.

As for Tete well Raiola is his agent ,his contract runs to 2018 and back in April he said he was talking of an extension but nothing has happened.Who knows.

He scores a few goals for Jong when cutting inside and shooting with his left . Muric seems easy to contain ie stop him cutting inside. He came as big talent but has not come as we hoped. I thought he would go on loan to another Dutch side but clearly feels his Ajax days are behind.

Pescara were rumoured to want our 19 year old Jong left winger Vince Gino Dekker but no way will we let him go.


I expect to see Zivkovic get loaned out next week now that Traore is here

Ajax definitely needs to trim down its squad, especially up front/midfield i.e. Gudelj, Schone, Zivkovic

Muric still not gone but rumours still that El Ghazi will go to Italy ,with Milan and Lazio mentioned.El Ghazi has not played well so far this season but has great potential and I hope we keep him another season.

Sheraldo Becker has agreed a 3 year deal with ADO but they have not yet agreed the 200,000 transfer fee.

Reports state Serero could return to South Africa .Looks like he will be unloaded before the month is out .

12m is the price for Cillessen. Sounds like he is going but bad timing as we need him for Rostov next week. We could go there with Boer or Onana. Cillessen was one of the best around last year but recent form he has gone back a bit. I would still ask nearer 20 m as he has 2 years left on his contract.

He has said he is prepared to leave and would not renew . Transfer deadline should be early August before all leagues start.

Is cillessen prepared to be second choice keeper? Because that is Barcelona are looking for

I think ter Stegen is injured and out for a couple of weeks so he could be a starter right off the bat.

I agree with Ayman -- based on his form so far this season, I can't imagine why Barcelona would be interested him.

I think there was some talk that they are considering him because of the similarities in the playing styles of Ajax and Barca. Surprising move yes, cause he hasn't really impressed lately. He is going to be 2nd choice for sure. Bigger salary I suppose. Though last season I think Barca did use one goalie for la liga and the other for CL so they might do that again. Or maybe just cup games for Cillessen.

We want more than 12 m for Cillessen and looks like Vitesse Eloy Room is 1st choice replacement.Ajax want Cillessen for Rostov but I dont see that happening.

More talk today that El Ghazi is off to Italy 15m . If we sell him we have 2 wingers left Younes and Cerny with Bailey arriving.

Barca have a super cup match tomorrow against Sevilla and ter Stegen is out with a knee sprain. It will be interesting to see if Bravo plays given the fluidity of all this transfer stuff. I have a bad feeling that we are going to lose players this transfer period without adequate replacements. At one point Ajax had a lot of decent youth keepers but they all left as there was no way to break into the first team. Maybe it's time for Edwin van der Sar to put the kit back on!

Ajax still have Van Bladeren, but they lost Leeuwenburgh, or he has yet to renew his contract.

Don't they also have a buy back clause for van der Hart?

Bad enough losing Cillessen a week before the deadline closes but Bailey signing could mean El Ghazi going and now Raiola is asking Lazio if they want to buy Tete. Report suggests Veltman will play RB as he attacks more than Tete.

Tete has a contract to 2018 ,got an offer to extend way back in April but clearly it feels Raiola will look to get him to Italy asap.

Once Becker goes Tete is Raiola's only first team player but a 16 year old youth defender Mitchel Bakker has signed with him . He was offered a 3 year contract back in May but like Tete nothing.I have not read of him wanting to go to England but I do worry when a 16 year old signs with Raiola.They usually do so to get a contract in England.

Its almost certain that Cillessen will leave for Barcelona, maybe El Ghazi as well. As for Tete? Not sure. I think he wants to see how the season goes, before he makes a decision.

I've said it before, Tete is not ready for big time football at RB. He is a very good defender but offensively lacking. RBs at big time teams have to be able to go down the sideline and deliver a cross which Tete at present cannot do. Just because he's a very good stopper in the Dutch league doesn't mean he warrants a big contract.

Agreed. If Tete wants to go let him. Veltman can slot at right back, while Sanchez can fill in at right centre back, with de Ligt as back up. Perfect
