There's now a piece on the Young Ajax game on Highlow.nl. They are normally very straight and independent. Not afraid to be critical. Their report says that Kuffour was actually quite good: calm, solid, simple passes, but always accurate. He was a duo with Vito Wormgoor and they kept the shop closed in convincing fashion for 70 minutes (that's how long Kuffour played for).

Well, I dunno. I didn't see the game. He says he's ready for first team action, anyway.

are true the reports quoting van geel that says quite openly "kuffour for us is only a sub"? not a good sentence for the self confidence of the player...

I only read (Het Parool) that Van Geel said he was not the replacement for Jaap Stam and that he would have to fight for his place, just like the others.

At this stage of the season I think players like Goossens should be getting a full game.In addition Supusepa, who played for Holland u19 's last week ,should be played regularly as Slinjgard is now well into his second year at this level and does not look as though he will break through.

It is a balancing act as we do have nearly 30 of our 32 first teamers fit
and there are 17 reserves under contract. At this stage of the season the club should be looking ahead and giving games to the promising kids. i.e.Blind and Campos Sousa are both contracted, but not yet played in the reserves.

Bad news Jong Ajax lost 1-0 to PSV in the league.

Cannot even beat the lightbulbers reserves!!! 7 of our starting 11 have played first team football as well !

Goossens has been making comments about his future and talking of a loan next season.He is not getting enough playing time with our reserves.
This week Leonardo was given afull 90 mins Goossens did not even come on.

I am probably talking crap but Leonardo is at best a sub and I will be surprised if he is still here next season. Goossens is only 19 has a contract for 3 more years and ought to be playing regularly for the reseves.He was injured for a couple of months before Christmas but is fit now.

If anyone will know about forward play , and wing play, I'd like to believe that the new broom soon to be sweeping in will be able to competently judge just where John Goossens fits in the scheme of things.

Reserves won 2-1 last night v Jong NAC Breda. Martina & Leonardo scored.

A good night for the reserves. They won 3-1 in Den Haag with goals from Yildirim VdHeijden and Goossens.

More good news Twente lost so Jong Ajax are now 2nd only 4 points behind them.8 games to go.

Other good news is that Jan-Arie Van der Heijden has signed a new contract to the year 2013. Btw when is Johnny Goosens going to get his chance for minutes in the senior team squad, Im not expecting it against PSV but if Huntelaar gets booked and misses the game against Willem II then its high time that Goosens gets the nod for place atleast as a sub.

It is true that we need to think about a successor for Huntelaar. I would be highly surprised if he's here next year.

After no game last week the reserves drew 0-0 with Sparta last night and are now 6 points behind Twente with 7 games to go.

The sub above is Renaldo Jongebloet a 19 year old striker who has scored a lot of goals in the A2 youth team but has been in the senior A1 youth team since Xmas.

The club have not offered him a contract yet but must be thinking of it as he is now in the reserve side.

Just saw that Goossens was out laast night with an injured ankle

As they are still reserves I should have put the news here that V Duin and Verhoeff , goalies are going.V Duin was on the first team bench for PSV and Twente played for Dutch u 20 last week and now out.

Martina has been given an extension to 2010 today and should be in the first team next season.

For the record 4 others have contracts ceasing in June. Slinjgard has been offered an extension but nothing about Sterk Yildirim Tayeb as yet.

Reserves drew 2-2 with NEC last night.

Good to see that at this stage we are playing the youngsters and not giving games to Urzaiz Colin Kuffour and Luque who are getting next to no first team playing time.

Clear out confirmed today. Yildirim,Tayeb Sterk join Verhoeff and Van Duin
in not having their contracts extended.

The only reserve whose contract is up this summer and offered a new one is Donovan Slijngard but he has not agreed anything.( I did see the other week they offered him a 1 year deal with 2 year option and he has offers from other clubs including abroad)

In addition Dionito Liesdek, another left back,whose contract runs to 2009
is leaving the club , discipline problem appears to be mentioned.

The club have therefore had a good clearout of their reserves.

Next season Martina and Goossens need to break through into the first team and official first teamers Donald Sarpong Anita and Manucharyan , who have all played regularly for the reserves this season,( when fit) cannot just stay at the club to play in the reserves.Most of these guys need to be loaned out to get first team experience.

No reserve league game this week ( 3 to go ) but the reserves played a friendly in Apeldoorn against AGOVV Apeldoorn first team drew 3-3.

The young Venezuelan trialist Gustavo Paez played.Martina, Hasselbaink and Manucharyan scored.

Ajax official site listed Martina and Goossens as midfielders and actual said Martina played central midfield, both of course are wingers.

Given that Verhoeff, Sterk, Yildirim and Tayeb are leaving I would have thought this was a good time to play some more of our A1 senior youths.
