No worries, mate. :xyxthumbs:
Well, is my question something that You can give an answer to?
I'm afraid not. There used to be a website named http://www.ajaxjeugd.nl/ ('AjaxYouth.nl'), but that one's gone and to be honest it wasn't much of a historic database, so I don't think that's the one you were looking for... I really wouldn't know the website you're talking about. Which is a shame, as I would definitely be interested in it...

Anyone else? For the recors: this was Matias' question...
Matias schreef:Hello,

I'm searching for a web-site, that I discovered some 8 month ago. This site contains information on Ajax-players at the youth system, from as long ago as 1995. The site has complete lists of the teams - for instance, at full playerlist of the youth-team 1995 aged 11-12 years with players like Sherjill MacDonald, Huysmann and Manipuhni (?).

Anyone knows this site? Or a similar site with the same informations?

Best regards,
Matias (Copenhagen, Denmark).

Zlatan scored an absolute stunner in the 91st minute against Hungary to seal a 0-1 away win.

Crap game, great goal!

bit of an interesting read on former ajax (youth esp) player and aussie Jason Culina and how now with Guus at the helm he's finally getting the recognition for the national team he deserves. (taken from theworldgame.com.au)
http://www3.sbs.com.au/home/index.php3?id=62886

Must say I have been a bit of a fan of Jason's for a while. Was a shame he left Ajax, but he's going great guns at Twente. Good luck Jas!

Anthony Obodai

I will not put up a link to this story on the Ajax USA homepage...

1. because Anthony Obodai is not an Ajax player but a former Ajax player
2. because this story sounds a bit sleazy

One thing's for sure: this is a dodgy situation and I'm sure this dude is having some sort of problem. I've heard stories about his 'domestic problems' before...

Here's the article:
http://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/S ... p?ID=89905

And here's the text:
Obodai’s wife on failed Ajax – Luton transfer

London, UK, 8 September 2005 - As has recently been reported in the British, Dutch and Ghanaian print and on-line media, the planned transfer of former Ajax midfielder Anthony Obodai to the English football club Luton Town has fallen through at the last minute.

Luton boss Mike Newel was quoted to be saying: "His wife was also getting involved and we were told he had a domestic problem but that it would all be sorted out soon. We were going to sign him, but I smelt a rat though - we can't be having someone's missus (wife) controlling what happens at the football club so it won't be going any farther.”

Desiree Obodai, the British wife of the 23-year-old Ghanaian football player, confirms that she did have an influence on the events and did refuse to sign documents that would have enabled Anthony Obodai to obtain a visa for the UK and ultimately to complete the transfer to Luton Town FC. However, she had valid reasons for this:

After she had been living with Anthony Obodai in Amsterdam for about one year, Ms Obodai returned to the UK to be closer to friends and family and to have their baby. She also wanted to escape her husband’s violent outbursts (in December 2004 she reported him for an incident of physical assault) hoping time apart would improve the situation.

With Ajax on their summer break Anthony Obodai followed her the next day and stayed with her, and the couple married on 25 June 2005.

Anthony Obodai briefly returned to Amsterdam on 5 July and then came back to the UK on 19 July for the birth of their baby.

On 23 July 2005, just four days after their daughter’s birth, Anthony Obodai assaulted Desiree Obodai again and she filed charges against him. Obodai who now has an outstanding court case pending and has been told not to come near his wife, returned to the Netherlands.

Then, on 17 August 2005, Anthony Obodai, after cancelling his contract with Ajax without his wife’s knowledge, arrived back in the UK. The night before he called her and asked her for their marriage certificate and for a passport photograph of her (and then later her actual passport). Desiree Obodai did not refuse the marriage certificate but denied him her passport or a passport photograph. This is when Anthony Obodai’s agent Charles Colimore became involved.

Desiree Obodai says: “Charles Colimore knew about the assault charges and the court case; he was the one who was trying to get Anthony out on bail. The documents I was asked to sign stated that Anthony would be living together with myself and our daughter in the UK as a family unit. This would have been a lie, and I therefore refused to sign the papers. Charles said I should sign them as this would be good for me: Anthony would earn more money in the UK and I would get the child support and maintenance. I still refused as I would have been signing something that was wrong.”

Anthony Obodai has now signed a two-year contract with Sparta Rotterdam.

He couldn't destroy Ajax, so, as I see, now he is on the best way to do that with Benfica...

Those who tried to destroy Ajax were those who sacked van Gaal.
I am more interested in Ronald's brother Erwin who I hope will soon be under pressure to say the least.

 It's a real shame as I actually quite liked Erwin before...decent coach, doing fairly well at a small club.....oh well, can't be helped :D

Raffie scores tonight for HSV v's VFB Stuttgart. Last season Zlatan couldn't stop scoring for Juventus and now Raffie likewise at HSV. Makes you want to :pukey:

Looks like an ex Ajaxman is headed for PSV...
From www.theworldgame.com.au
Culina set for PSV Eindhoven?
SBS can reveal emerging Socceroos star Jason Culina has accepted personal terms with the view to completing a move from FC Twente to PSV Eindhoven.

Socceroos coach Guus Hiddink, who is also the PSV boss, has targeted Culina as the solution to the current midfield injury crisis at the club.

If the impasse over the transfer fee can be resolved, Culina will be a PSV player before the Dutch domestic transfer window close this weekend.

The technically-adroit 25 year old has impressed Hiddink for some time.

Big loss for Twente. Pity he never got more of a run in the senior team while at Ajax.

Yep - PSV just completed the Culina deal... He signed until the summer of 2009.

I wonder how many goals he will score against Ajax.

I'm depressed.

I just watched all the old Zlatan Movies..... X'C X'C X'C

Which raises an interesting question...pick your "Best Ex-Ajax XI" of players still currently playing.

Answers on a postcard......

Yep you are probably right Ko.

Ajax should never have let Culina go. This guy is just starting to reach his peak. I predict big things from him at PSV, which is great for the Aussie team, not so great for Ajax.

In interview for Voetbal Magazine Shota Arveladze said that he is really disappointed, that Danny Blind didn't offer him a contract in Ajax last transfer window. Blind talked with him, but said, that he needs young players to rebuild Great Ajax and added, that Arveladze would be only reserve player...

As we see it was a big mistake... Arveladze is the best striker in Eredivisie and plays really good... Unfortunately, not for us  .

I don't think it was a mistake. Blind is trying to build a team for future years. Arveladze is 32. No point building a team out of players who will be leaving as the team peaks. AZ on the other hand just needed a player to fill a gap in their well-established team, so it makes sense that they would get an established player to fill that gap.

I still think it was big mistake. I really want to see young and perspective players in Ajax, but we can't build a strong team only with youngsters. Look, when we have won Champions League we had a lot of young players, but we also had older and more experienced men. And they were the brain of the squad (for example Rijkaard). Now our youngsters don't have any great example to follow and to have a teacher in the squad. Well, maybe Galasek, but he is the only one...

Yeah any player more than 30 years is not Ajax pruchase material anymore.

We have an academy, it produces gems every year (Maduro and Emmanuelson are the best examples), we've GOTTA build our future on that.

Only IF the academy is shit then we can think about spending money on old losers like Köller or Arveladze :)

Our young players from de Toekomst need 2-3 years to gain experience... But when they are good enough to be important part of the squad they are automatically transfered to richer clubs X'C . I am sure that it will be great to see Ajax in 2008 with Maduro, Emanuelson, Heitinga, Vermeer etc. But I think they will be in other clubs that time  .

We have not lost so many in the last 3 /4 years. Chivu and VDM in 2003 Zlatan 2004 and VDV 2005.

4 very good players but in fact only 2 came from our academy.

We do produce lots of youngsters and many do not make it or we let them go before they mature.

I have the QPR programme from July 2004 and of the 27 players listed 11 have left in the space of a year and 2 others would have left this summer, Maxwell but for injury and Lobont had Steks not injured himself. Quite a turnover.

Apart from Zlatan and VDV the other 9 are Lindgren, De Mul, O'Brien,Obodai Pasenen, De Ridder, Sikora, Soetaers. Sonck. None of these other 9 are setting the world alight!!

De Ridder is the only other local but he is not getting much playing time with Celta .
