Wie kent Cees de Wolf nog schreef:How did Larsson do? Is he completely recovered from his injury?
Yes, he's completely recovered. He is back in good shape and did well tonight. He assisted two of the goals and ran a lot as always.

Or maybe it was Kewell and Smith....
hahahaha...Yeah, I was thinking Kewell, but didn't want to mention him as he was another Aussie.

Lets agree to disagree on this one...but I remember clearly Viduka's 4 goals against Liverpool a few years back. That was somethng special.

Well, let's just say I don't trust Östlund at all. Petrov didn't get too much done yesterday, but he did have the chance for Bulgaria as he ran past Östlund in a counter attack and came face to face with Isaksson. But once again Isaksson made me wonder why the hell he's still playing for Rennes. He was excellent in yesterday's match. Again.

Could have somthing to do with him conceding 3-6 goals each round in the French league :eusa_dance:

Anyways, ÖStlund is all physique and no play. Fine.....if you're in Allsvenskan.....horrible on the international stage.

Witch makes me wonder where is Maichel Svensson ????? He was supposed to be the next Patrik Andersson, and i must say he was playing really well at Southampton... before he got injured that is. How is he doing right now ???? Sweden really need to rejuvenate that backline.

On another topic i went to the Venezuela VS Peru match "The Vinotinto" beat the peruvian team by 4-1 Excelent game :xyxthumbs: nobody problably cares but we still have a slim chance of macking it to the playoff with Australia. :eusa_pray:

This is supposed to be an absolutely unbelievable goal by a Dutch guy named Dave de Jong, who plays for VfL Osnabrück in Germany (lower division side, I think). According to the guys who posted this link to Ajax Netwerk it was shown on the news in Holland and also on CNN and Eurosport, just because it's such a stunning goal.

http://rapidshare.de/files/4714689/Dave ... g.rar.html

Problem is... I can't view it. Just doesn't work for me. Very frustrating, because everyone's raving in that thread on Ajax Netwerk... Can someone turn it into a JPEG or WMV file...?

Ko,

It's a .rar file which means that it's zipped.

Get the program winrar, or winzip and unzip the file and you will find a wmv-file.

You can get winrar or winzip for free on several downloadsites (it's shareware).

One of them is download.com.

The goal?

It was nice, must say more fluke goal than a stunner though.

If someone still has problems (despite Per's excellent sum-up) :

http://chardonbertrand.free.fr/Dave%20de%20Jong.wmv

The transfer rates might not be the best in the world, but it's still better than nothing.

PS : Per, I'm sorry, but this IS a stunning goal.

Thanks, Bertrand! :xyxthumbs:

Pretty amazing goal indeed. It didn't went in as spectacularly as I expected based on the descriptions, but hitting the ball like that in such a situation... Amazing. By the way: it was the equalizer in the last minute of a cup game, and after that they won on pennos, 12-11!

Cheers Bertrand, that was indeed a great goal - your link was perfect for us technophobes (but you're right, it was slow ;) ).

VfL Onsabruck play in the Regionalliga Nord (Third Level) and Dave de Jong seems to have come to them via Dalian Shide (China I think).

My God - you know everything, don't you? :worshippy:

I'd never heard of Dave de Jong and I think hardly anyone knows him here in Holland. I saw his player passport on the internet somewhere and it appears he played for TOP Oss a long time ago, before moving abroad.

I'm flattered Ko but I think I should pass at least some credit in this case to the "Kicker Bundesliga Preview 2005/2006". 5.95 Euro from the bookshop at Amsterdam Centraal last time I was over :D

I could couldn't I - How about this then, I don't know about Top Oss but DdJ definately played for De Graafschap in 1998-99 and NAC in 2000-2001. 17 Eredivisie games in total :D

Does anyone know what's happened to www.footballnl.com ? I was never a regular viewer but it was a good site to go on occasionally (and just about the only one that does English reports on the whole Dutch league, both match reports and transfer news/gossip).

Every time I've looked recently the news stops on 7th July 2005 so I assume it's folded. It was really good too for news on Dutch players abroad etc (like our new friend Dave de Jong).

If it is gone for good does anyone know of another similar site?

Well Per and Jakobg, it looks like Swedish TV will have a new star commentater for the World Cup next year....after tonight debacle in Belfast Sven certainly has no business going there with England even if they qualify...a 10 year old could have scored that goal Healy did.

As usual with England games these days I must admit I wasn't really watching it. TV was on and I set the video to record while I pottered around the house doing other things so I could watch if it turned out to be worth it....I certainly won't be bothering with that one now. To be different I watched on BBC1 Northern Ireland which I have on cable TV.....as they said, this is the first time NI have beaten England since 1927!

I hadn't caught the result.

You're not exaggerating like all English when it comes to your national team?

The players care too much about their pay packets from their clubs, and don't play with heart.

Plus we lack any left width and a target man, does not help.

No, they've been really bad of late. To be honest I'm not terribly nationalistic about footy (or politically) anyway so have never really followed that fanatically, I always used to watch the games though but just can't get into it at the moment.

"You're not exagerating like all English...."hmm, seems I not the only one who's exagerating  :D ;)

True, an amazing loss by the English add to that the 4-1 pounding by the danes in their last frendly and it looks like there`s gonna be a new coach in town.I would still bet on them going to the worls cup though(same story last time they qualified). By the way Jakobg and Per must be jumping after Zlatan`s last minute winner, Sweden 1 Hungary 0 add to that Croacia`s blunder against Malta and it looks like the swede's are heading to the big dance.

The netherlands are even closer after they beat Andorra 4-0 raffie scored and Sneyder and Maduro played some minutes(one came in for the other).Italy is almost there too... and man Thierry Henry's goal :worshippy: class pure class

Well, I guess it is not the end of the world, we will still qualify. I remember Brazil scrapping through for 2002 WC, maybe we can do the same.

*Optimistic*

I know him. :headbang:

He's Theo's son. Theo de Jong was a far better player though.
