We have now wrapped up a pretty fine season and we have finally made real progress, we are now moving in the right direction. I have a feeling that a successful new decade is ahead of us and things seem quite bright to me. This season we achieved important goals: we played Champions League football and performed decently, we met domestic expectations, no matter how hard and how many times our immaturity cost us and quite importantly, we have promoted quite a handful of young players: Ebecillo, Boilesen, Eriksen. Sulejmani finally started contributing and we now have a really promising coach with talent and love, passion and knowledge of our club.



As for this last game - i really liked how van der Wiel made up for so much of his weak play throughout the season. He is second man of the match, after de Jong, the cool finisher.

What a day............I was lucky enough to be at the game,agony and joy and all points in between.....its been a long long wait and we finally made the big 30.There were some great performances and it was great to see people get stuck in and fight to the end for the cause.Anita who I have always said is to small to make it as a footballer,was a giant in midfield,Erikson had the best game I have ever seen from him,Jan and Toby were fighting like tigers to keep Twente out,even Micky was tackling back.They all deserve credit but the Man of the moment is the Legend Frank de Boer.He has achieved this all with a very young team and no striker.
I couldnt make the party in town after as I had to get to the airport,but the atmosphere in Amsterdam was fantastic.
Lets enjoy it,all of a sudden the future the future looks bright.........Hup Ajax....the Champions.

I hope the future turns out to be as good as you say. BUT I still believe the future holds what the past has shown us. Sooner or later we wont be able to hold on to the good players we started producing again. Hopefully things in UEFA change for the better and then somerhing VERY GOOD might happen in the following decade... CL stuff

Cheers Benji, that a great video. Really hoping to get out to Amsterdam again sometime next season - hopefully by then I'll have a job again.....

Also, it was nice seeing the Arena as a real 'fortress' with 50,000 partisan, passionate fans.
It hasn't always been the case in recent years.....
