All the teams with less talent play that way -- to my thinking it is a problem with the rules -- there just isn't enough of a penalty for committing a foul, so they figure it's worth it. Until they change the rules to make committing a foul worth a real punishment it will always be that way.

I always thought basketball and hockey had the right idea. Say a guy commits five fouls in a game - that's an automatic yellow card -- commit seven and he's out of the game. To keep a team from rotating a 'designated fouler' after eight 'team fouls' they have to play with 10 men for 10 minutes. After another 6 team fouls they have to play with 10 men again.

That would put an end to the gratuitous fouling in quick order.

If it's just too much pressure on Ajax to score, then they don't really need to score. Playing in the Champion's League only leads to more pressure. Ajax players do okay without all that pressure. :P

At least this is the end. I couldn't stomach any more. Not till August anyway. Besides, my parents taught me that, if you can't say something nice, say nothing.

Oh well, Pearl Jam touring the east coast in June. Hallelujah. A 13 show roadtrip should wash the taste of the season out of my mouth.

Nah... Twente could easily convert 3 or 4 chanses. Twente was 2-1 up and didn't have to score. Ajax on the other hand had to score. Twente just made sure Ajax didn't score.
