Sad story but nice gesture from our players .

It's always sad when a player has to leave the game because of a medical issue unrelated to playing football. Silva gave the club his all when on the pitch and I certainly wish him well in the future.

It is sad, you wouldn't wish that on anyone. Does anybody have a clear idea of what happened? He got an infection from a routine shoulder operation, which resulted in the removal of part of his shoulder joint?

Unfortunately, post-surgical infections still occur and can be very difficult to clear up particularly if the infection is resistant to antibiotics (which is becoming more common). They can arise from a number of different causes.
