Does anyone know how long Jan-Arie Van der Heijden is going to be out??
He injured a knee back at the end of July.

Gabri still out. Ajax Netwerk has a blurb that says he's out for Thursday.

Gabri still likely to be out on Sunday.
Aissati is likely to be out for up to 6 more weeks.
Re my posting of the other day does anyone know how Jan-Arie is?

A meniscus problem for Aissati...not good. As much as I'd like to see him in our engine room, it looks like Mickey or Cvitanich can play inside.

That is seriously bad news...
There seemed to be some chemistry between KJH and Sulejmani, but when Sulejmani picked up that injury it was the same old story again (crap football, no chances). Really bad, this.

Better news about Oleguer, he's only expected to miss 3 weeks. Those, however, are two players I would really rather not lose from the squad.

First PSV game is on November 15.
Not sure about the UEFA Cup group games.

Just glad we didn't jettison the likes of Rommedahl and Leonardo. Given Mickey's early season form, it'll probably take more than one forward to equal his contribution.
As for replacing Oleguer, I guess it's Silva to RB and either Jan Vertonghen or Gregory van der Wiel sign in please at CB.
So much for Ajax equals art. It seems for the last few years that Ajax equals injury.

I think this is the way to go for the upcoming weeks:
Silva - Van der Wiel - Vermaelen - Vertonghen

Depressing reading. I mean, I'm all for blooding youth, but not out of necessity.

Stekelenburg has an injured shoulder and will miss the UEFA Cup match against Borac. Glad we have a nice lead from the first leg, but that's not a player I'd like to have missing. Vermeer is expected to start.

I wonder if it would have been Gentenaar if he'd kept his trap shut.

The anguished scream heard in Amsterdam when this announcement was made was Dennis Gentenaar's. How ironic. Unless he is hurt, he'll make the bench for the Ajax-Borac tie...behind Vermeer.

And he is. Padt will be on the bench.

Darko Bodul out four to six weeks with an ankle problem, according to Ajax Netwerk.

Bad news Steks is out for 4 to6 weeks with a shoulder injury and our old friend Gentenaar is out for the same period with a hernia.
So its Vermeer for the next 6 weeks with Padt on the bench .We already have a long list of injuries and its only just over 1 month into the season ie 7 competitive games!

I feel pretty confident with Vermeer. I think he had a good summer at the Olympics and it's his time to step up in his development as a player. Hopefully Steks recovers fully, though.

Yeah. I agree. I think he's ready for the job. I have faith in him.

Bad news with Enoh for 6 weeks but Oleguer and Kennedy are back in training and Oleguer and Gabri are hopeful for Groningen.
Van der Heijden has had an op on his knee so it could be some time before he is fit.

Even Kennedy would be an improvement over the current Aissati less midfield. Kennedy and Gabri. Could it be? I'm almost feeling giddy.

I'd much prefer a mf of Gabri-De Jong-Emanuelson. Kennedy's just on the cusp of returning from injury, but at least he showed he was a good player in the right system at FC Twente. Siem de Jong has shown occasional moments that make supporters go WOW, but hasn't shown enough in his minutes. Few choices. Also, I can't see Rasmus Lindgren playing in the center of mf.
I choose for Emanuelson over Vertonghen at Left mid because Urby should never again play as a fullback. Vertonghen is at least quality at more than one position. Meaning we can use Urby's offensive skill set and not be quite so burned by his matador , ole`, get out of the way defense.
As was said, too few choices. At least for several more weeks /months/years...who the f!*k knows?

A blurb on AN has Oleguer ( not in jail yet) and Vonk returning with Jong Ajax.
