Huntelaar is normal again.

Ha, looks like I'm outvoted. I only saw the last 15 minutes, so the lasting impression for me is that he's a diver...

Didn't see the game, just the live updates on the web.
May sound like a stupid question given the scoreline, but how was the team as a whole? The defense for example. Did we still have any 'oh shit' moments?
8 goals though. great, great start to the season.

I saw up to about minute 80 before sopcast crapped out ... performance was ok, but de graafschap are utter shit. Still, should be a good confidence booster for the return with Slavia.
KJH and Suarez seem to have struck up a very good understanding .. should make a great strike duo ... look as if they have been playing together for years.
I love our little South American Diver

When Vermaelen went to the bench ,Colin became our central back.
Then they scored. In their only chance so far.
Stam was Solid. All substitutions were very effectives.etc

Well, what can I say? Graafschap's defense totally crumbled. They were disasterous. They did one goal back and it was deserved. Not because of a defensive lapse of Ajax's but their own attack. So here's how the goals happened and a few notable things from the first half as well:
Suarez took the ball up front on the left wing, trying to create space but then passing the ball to Maduro, who unexpectedly made a good shot which managed to avoid the players and the keeper. Nice goal.
The next one was similar to the KJH's first goal, Suarez held the ball well and made himself some space and put a brilliant lobed pass from the right to Maduro who comfortably put it in. 4 goals and Suarez had a hand in all of them. What a player!
The next one was from Kennedy, who got a good pass made his way well and calmly put it in the far post. 3 goals in 6 minutes. Ajax on fire, Graafschap destroyed. Ajax slowed down the game a bit, doing 'possession-defending'.
Somewhere in the game Heitinga made a long shot that his the crossbar. The next game came from Huntelaar; a blond guy with long hair (

missed his name) put in a cross that took a deflection of the defender and quite luckily landed on KJH's head.
Didn't really see the De Graafschap goal. De groot put it in. The next one came from the spot. After Suarez 'fell' after a making a good run. You can say it was a dive but I think he lost his balance. Wasn't a penalty but ref wasn't really at any fault. Different is the only word to describe the penalty kick. Hat trick for the Hunter.
The fourth one was a bit of horrid defending coupled with a quick thinking to deliver the ball and a header. Four goals for Huntelaar had even the ref. smiling on the whislte.
Great game for Ajax. Some things I didn't mention in the first half:
Kennedy put in the balls decently in play and from the corner with a one or two exceptions. One corner of his was reached by Suarez who was unmarked but only managed to hit the ball with the top of his head and went out.
Graafschaap never shied from attacking, not in the second half not even remotely in the first. Their no. 9 has a good first touch and controls the ball well. Urby Emanuelson made a terrible shot from from real far off, real wasteful of him. Suarez had great chemistry with KJH, could make a great pair.
Hopefully a sign of things to come for Ajax. Can't wait for the next game.

Great win and for our confidence. We could have done with this game last week.KJH back to normal putting the ball in the net. I am sure we are all more hopeful of Prague return.

I just hope this is not the usual 'Unpredictable Ajax'. Btw who is this Swedish kid Kristoffer Weckstrom, did he play well? what position does he play?

Last year we would invariably give up points against mediocre teams. It is one of the things that cost us the championship. So this is about as good a start as we could have hoped for: we didn't play down to our opposition's level and our goal differential kicks ass (and we know how important goal differential can be). Also, this is good practice for the CL. Hopefully we can put a few goals on Slavia this week.

Good thing Huntelaar isnt with Oranje, means he'll be sharp and rested for Heerenveen and Praag.
