I think we're going to see a lot of Leonardo in the starting line-up. I think Ten Cate's going to use him on the right, so Leonardo and Huntelaar won't get in eachother's way in that department.

I still dont know about this move, i for one would like too see another center forward ( a real number 9) bought to cover Huntelaar`s back. Not another forward to convert into a winger like we have done with Babel and Rosenberg.

Leonardo scored NAC's late equalizer yesterday evening against ADO Den Haag (who seemed to be on their way to a surprise 1-2 win in Breda).

He didn't say much at the press conference, except that people always told him that Ajax would be the best Dutch club for him. His family and girlfriend also told him that, so... :D

I wish it was that easy. Trust me, for those of us who do live over here in the States and follow Ajax, Leonardo isn't the first player who comes to mind for a jersey, even if 69 was his number.

Am i the only one who thinks that leonardo is absolute shit as a player??
As i saw it from his first match in the ajax shirt and all the games later he is a very annoying player. First of all and the most important one: he is not a team player. He loses the ball almost every time when trying to drible. Most of the time leonardo spends on the ground whining to the refery. And like Ko said before he has his little annoying gestures when he is not getting the ball. I believe that this guy will never become a true ajaxied!
I think we should sell him in the summer. What do you think?

Perez is a better player, but as a winger, i also prefer Leonardo. He has the skill and pace to do some damage to about every defence in the world, it's a damn shame he's not showing it though.

On the whole I prefer 4-3-3, but if we utilise the 4-4-2 as Van Gaal does at AZ we could switch to 4-3-3 later in the game. On Perez being shite as a winger - at least he can put in an accurate cross.

I would like Perez on, but I'd rather have Mitea on left wing rather than Leo. Yes he's good in the dying minutes with his speed and such, but I find him pretty unreliable sometimes. Anyone recall his horrific shot in the last minute against Excelsior? -_-

Mitea imo is a better, more creative winger, the Overmars/Robben type. A better Ajax type.

Leonardo's knee looks to be busted something bad. The injury was described as "very serious" by Ajax.

Apparently the last time he had a serious knee injury he was out for a year. Don't know if this is the same knee though, hopefully not.

Poor guy was screaming from the pain as he was stretchered off.

Yup - it's almost certainly very bad. Probably the cruciate ligament, torn off completely. Season over; that's a safe bet.

In addition to that...

An MRI scan will be made at the hospital. Hopefully tomorrow, possibly the day after. The reason why this is as yet uncertain, is the fact that an MRI scan won't tell you much so shortly after the incident. The swelling will have to decrease before a real diagnosis can be made. This can take 24 hours or more. The doctors will observe Leo's knee tomorrow, in order to determine whether it makes sense to have an MRI scan made.

The general expectation, however, is 6 to 9 months...

That should be totally possible. I was able to go back to full activity six months after having a complete acl reconstruction. I now have the acl of a cadaver screwed into my right knee with titanium screws.

He'll also be rehabbing full time 5-7 days/week, whereas I only did it 3-5 days/week for an hour or so a day.

The cool thing is that, when it comes to sports, my knee is pretty much like it was before the injury, thankfully.

I'm happy to recommend my surgeon to him if he wants. :xyxthumbs:

This league season is over for us. Now it is not important if we'll be 2nd or 4th. Bad thing is that Leonardo won't play in play-offs and Dutch Cup... I hope that de Mul will be fit in following months :eusa_pray: .

This is a little bit childish of them, but it's pretty funny at the same time... Sportweek magazine published a literal transcript of their interview with Leonardo on Sunday evening, in literal 'Leo speak'...
