3:0 is a nice result ... should have been 6 or 7 with the number of chances Ajax created.
KJH must have had at least half a dozen efforts on goal ......... on target with all but one ..... very good all round performance from the Hunter
Nice that he is in scoring form again
Strong performance from the midfield trio of Gabri, Roger and Sneijder ........ not so convinced about the wingers ........ big Jaap looks a better bet for a wing position than either Babel or Rosales :D .

Thanks everyone for the commentary . I was in NYC for the weekend and missed following today's match.Catching 2 shows at soon to close CBGB, meeting Lenny Kaye, and seeing Lou Reed at breaklfast has advantages, but missing Ajax isn't one of them.
Two for KJH, a clean sheet, and Roger opens his account . Nice way to prep for Norway. Just glad our match isn't in November.

Roger's goal was the killer, at that point the game was pretty much a training session. Really dull actually, but hey!!! It's a great result anyways. Now lets do the bussines in Scandinavia

Just nice to be able to watch Ajax on TV again... I though Ogararu (however he spells it) was great. Very steady. And Stam was majestic.
Great to see KJH get off the schnei... but Rosales, what a stinker he had today. :nooo:

He did set up the first, I would be more critical of Babel's performance

I thought Rosales had quite a good game, to be honest... I really thought he did alright: two assists, he got past his defender more frequently than usual and he worked hard (slidings, intercepting the ball, defending). I thought he was better than Babel, who - for some reason - was voted Man of the Match. Which I couldn't understand. The MotM was (very clearly) Roger, Sneijder or Stam - if you ask me...

That's right M. Even British TV questioned the MOTM award yesterday! Roger or Sneijder should have had the award!
Let's keep this form going for Thursday!

I thought Babel was playing quite well, especially considering his recent form. Obviously Stam would be motm every week but to keep it a bit more excited they roulate it a bit :D Back to Babel, his gave a few fine crossings and he was active almost the whole game, which normally his weakness.
Rosales didn't play well I'm afraid. Very dutiful and without much dare in his game. Yes, he worked hard (but I expect everyone to work hard for the money they make!) but he just doesn't get anywhere. In the 2nd half I would have switched Babel to the right and brought in Manu on the left.
Overall a good game and a more than well deserved victory!

I agree with this. I thought Babel was one of the best players out there, and Rosales the worst. Babel repeatedly beat his man, particularly in the first half, was unlucky to have a few good-looking shots blocked, and generally looked dangerous. Rosales was generally unable to do any of those things, and kept on losing the ball off his own feet. He did put in a couple of crosses, though.
My three players of the match are:
1. Roger
2. Babel
3. Huntelaar (would have put Stam in had he played the entire match). Were it not for Waapenaar catching fire, Huntelaar could have had three or four goals.
I don't understand why people thought this was going to be a tough game, as noted in the early postsof this thread. I thought Ajax were dominant and looked good, but can (and will) look soooo much better as the team gels.
They could really be good this year, and maybe even better next year.
