Oh wow, it's 4-1 now. Chelsea/Newcastle was predictable and boring but you can't beat the mighty Ajax to come up with some "excitement" - that's what I call a last minute equaliser after the game anyway...

Now if I could just sort out those dirty rats at SBS6 TV who pulled the plug on the internet.....

Usually, the final is played in De Kuip, 1 week after the end of the Eredivisie. But I don't know what will happen with the play-off...

The 'KNVB Beker Finale' is traditionally on Hemelvaartsdag (Ascension Day) in the stadium of our beloved Feyenoord Rotterdam.

Ah, it will be played on May 7th, Ajax will be officially the home team.

From what I heard it sucked. Ajax was 1-0 down till the dying seconds of the game and didn't deserve much more. I sure would have enjoyed watching the extra time though. :yes:

Yeah, that's what I meant. I was a bit p'ed off about the internet thing so was watching the Chelsea game and didn't check on the score till just before we equalised near the end....that's the bit I would have liked to watch :xyxthumbs:

I'm not going to write the whole match report here, but here's a quick summary. In the second half Ajax got worse and worse. Maduro started making mistakes and Oper scored after one of them: 0-1 (61'). Ajax were plain crap, Blind took off two midfielders (Boukhari and Anita) for two extra strikers (Babel and Charisteas), but even in a 3-2-5 formation Ajax were never seriously threatening. It seemed hopeless.

But then: the 4th minute of stoppage time, literally 10 seconds before the final whistle. Long throw by Juanfran... bicycle kick by Huntelaar into the far side netting. An absolutely AMAZING goal. Unbelievable.

And then, as you'd expect, Roda collapsed in extra time. Babel had made it 2-1 in no-time. In the second half of extra time he made it 3-1 and Huntelaar made it 4-1, after great work by Harry. Babel and Charisteas were both superb as subs.

I felt so sorry for Roda in extra time... They were falling apart. Completely stunned. Devastated.

It was a long throw from Juanfran, halfway down Roda's half. It went over the heads of Charisteas and his defender, bounced once, and then KJH just took it at once, falling backwards. A classic example of what the Germans call a Fallrückzieher. Kujovic dived and stretched completely, but couldn't reach it as it hit the far side netting.

And the sound of that ArenA... Orgasmic...

Shame I couldn't be there, but I celebrated my own party in front of the TV.

By the way, folks: we will 'formally' be the home team in the cup final (which means: home kits!). And, most importantly, assuming that PSV will win the championship (*yawn*) we are hereby officially qualified for the UEFA Cup at least, no matter what happens.

ohh yeaah. This Huntelaar guy is becoming my favorite player day after day!. What an incredible result, I'm looking forward to see the game tomorrow on ESPN.

Just in from the game - to be honest 94 minutes of utter shite and absolutely bloody freezing to boot ( no point beating about the bush) and then that goal - what an effin goal :cheer: :bis: :headbang:

The arena did go orgasmic, was great, people falling over seats - the way a goal should be clebrated. Pity the poor sods who had already left to miss a moment of pure oportunistic brilliance.

Anyway the rest was inevitable with Roda collapsing - 3 good goals mind you.

Then after game quick pop into KJHs new local.

BTW Ko, Lux was heaving with beauties tonight and also 2 good looking barmaids, a new one too :xyxthumbs:
