Just to say that most english teams only have 2 experienced goalies and the third goalie is usually about 21/22 with a couple of years as a reserve.

If Gentenaar goes we only have teenagers left and thus the club feel they need a third goalie with a little experience.Mind you Padt has not been given many chances with the reserves this season and in the last few weeks when Vonk was playing Padt was back in the A1 youths. Padt played just 6 out of 17 league and cup reserve games.

Ajax need to play Padt in as many as possible reserve games for the rest of the season so he can become our no 3 next season. Trouble is Vermeer
will give way to Steks and will have to play some reserve games and so will Gentenaar .Padt will still not be getting enough games for the reserves.

I will get back on my pet subject and that is the reserves should be for youths and only seniors coming back from injury.

Ajax have some real goalie talent coming through with 17 year olds Bizot and Peristerides who is Greek and our B1 U17 goalie Warner Hahn is the best U17 goalie in Holland and turned down Arsenal to join us last summer. These kids need pushing through.

IMO I would make sure Steks is match fit by the end of the month then get rid of Gentenaar and make Padt our no 3 for the rest of this season.

Maybe I am not talking crap !!( no need to answer that !!) as some headlines in Dutch today suggests Gentenaar can go as Padt is good enough to be our No 3.

I saw something about two unnamed clubs showing interest in Dennisgruntled Gentenaar.

About to join VVV-Venlo, according to press reports.

VVV are this year's First Division champions and will therefore be in the Eredivisie next season.

More news when it happens.

Done deal: he has signed for VVV-Venlo.

He spent three seasons at Ajax and he had seven first team appearances in total.

Thanks a lot, Dennis. Good luck at VVV-Venlo.

Thread closed. Former Players thread from now on.
