My thoughts on this person as a player are very well known, but hey you really cannot help liking him for his commitment, enthusiasm and his apparent love for Ajax. This guy makes me cry and smile in equal measures.

According to AT5 Boukhari has agreed a two year contract extension with Ajax today. No confirmation on Ajax.nl yet (Ajax USA will wait for that before running it as news), but I'm sure it's true.

According to rumours he was also talking to Nantes in the past week or so.

Well, okay then. He's not a world beater, but his attitude is superb and he's played well in the past month. Very well, sometimes. If he can live with the role he's had in the past season (sometimes a starter; sometimes not) then it's fine with me if he stays.

Yeah he is the perfect squad player I feel. He knows the system. Sure he has plently of 'down' games, but he seems to come good when really required. Maybe under another coach he will truly excel.

They should have signed him to a game-by-game contract. He seems to play best when his back is against the wall.

According to Football365.fr, Boukhari has signed for 3 years at FC Nantes... No official confirmation yet.

UPDATE : according to the Nantes official website, Boukhari has agreed the terms of his contract and should sign it today.

I've been to Nantes before, it's a nice city. Underrated if you ask me. A really cool huge castle in the middle of town. Not so sure about the football team, though. They have a good youth program but, like Ajax, are always forced to sell (e.g. Karembeu, Loko). They've been the bad end of midtable last few years, though they always seem to get cup success every year. I wish Boukhari luck, I don't think his play of the last month or two makes up for years of abject performances.

Well, that sure is a twist... after it was reported in the last couple days that he had signed with Ajax. Not one of my favorites, so I'm not overly heart-broken to see him go, but still, if it's true that he is gone to Nantes, I wish him all the best for his future career.

I look at his leaving like I look at The Hunters omission from the World Cup squad: an opportunity . In KJH's case,an opportunity to prove to Marco van Basten that he belongs. Namely, KJH GLH(goes like hell) at Jong Oranje and club level. In the case of Boukhari leaving, an opportunity for Ajax to bring in a mf or for Michael Krohn-Dehli or a youngster to make their mark.

Krohn-Delhi is a right sided midfielder and apparently can play on the right wing aswell, as a makeshift that is. IMO I think it was a smart move by Boukhari, he has left Ajax on a high, I wish him all the success at his new club.

Reports that Boukhari will join Nantes have now popped up pretty much everywhere, except on the official sites of the two clubs involved.

Just to make sure: the FC Nantes we're talking about here is FC Nantes Atlantique, right? ( http://www.fcna.fr/ ) Or is that another club from Nantes?

Anyways - we will wait until the deal is confirmed by the clubs and then run it as news on Ajax USA.

In my opinion it's not a big difference to be reserve player in Nantes instead of Ajax... Maybe I'm wrong, but Boukhari won't be a star in France.

He'll probably have a bigger chance to more time on the pitch in Nantes than he would have at Ajax next season. Can't blame him for leaving. And obviously not too many are crying rivers over him leaving anyway.

I must say I liked Boukhari. That might be because of the fact that I haven't seen him play every week, like many others of you. But the times I did see him, he was often quite good. I wish him all the best in France.

Moving to the French league other than Lyon, is a degrading, I mean who has been pissing on that league for the past 5 years?! :pukey:

Yeah, you really should tell us who's been pissing on the French league... :?:

Wasn't me, that's for sure.

The French league is of a much higher level than the Dutch.

Further more, I think Boukhari just wants to play an entire season in the starting lineup and he's probably confident that he can achieve that at FC Nantes.
