Let's keep the three strikers "working" for their shirts! Rosie, Chari and "The Hunter" will all have to compete; if they work and score, they keep the shirt. It's a little unfortunate for Huntelaar as he'll have a 9 Million Euro tag on his head!

I dont think Harry ,Rosie and Hunt should play together
I think like yesterday ,should play Rosales in mid (and played very well )
and Hunt e Charisteas in attack...I think thats the best choice to beat Kakkerlakken in R#tterdam... :headbang: :headbang:
And try to win the eredivisie (very hard) and beat Inter at least

I don't think Blind should play them all together. Either Rosenberg and Huntelaar or Charistas and Huntelaar. Results should improve if the players are working towards a goal, that being a place in the team.
If they don't perform, they're out!
There's no opportunity for any slackers now, we're too far behind!

I disagree. Playing 3 strikers is what gained us world domination in the 1970's. If these 3 can develop an understanding to play together, and can scare the opposition sh*tless, let's do it!

OK. Let 'em all play together. But where's the midfield work going to come from; who's going to provide the ammo for them? Two strikers, a wide man, three midfield "winners" and "distributors" is what's needed! Just think, if one gets injured, your whole plan goes to pot!

Remember guy's the 4-3-3 was played with wingers, not three central forwards, remember the failed experiments with Sonck. Can you imagine Harry playing as a right wing ???? No way....

Don't forget that back in the 70's the traditonal formation was actually 2-3-5. It panned out as 4-3-3 when the wider "attackers" played behind the "strikers" and the central midfielder was a play maker. Look at it today! It would be classed as 2-1-2-2-3. (2 central defenders; 1 deep midfielder; 2 wide defenders; 2 wingers and 3 strikers!)
I wonder if it would work today?
Might try it out with the school team and blame the cock up on "history"!

Heerenveen play a sort of 4-4-1-1, as Yildirim is a wide striker and Huntelaar the main striker, although its pretty much a 4-4-2. Behind he would have guys like Bosvelt, Bruggink etc. I think keeping the 4-4-2 with Huntelaar would work, (maybe with rosenberg?) and behind have Rosales, De Jong, Galasek, Sneijder or anyone that would fit. I still think the Trabelsi-Heitinga-Vermaelen-Juanfran defence is excellent.

Yeah zoef but lets not forget about Grygera, I dont care how well Heitinga and Vermealen are playing once Grygera is fit i want him in the Game... Vermealen still has to mature both phisically and mentally.
In the 4-4-2 scheme Emanuelson would be perfect as the left midfielder, rosales or De Jong could play on the right leaving Sneijder as the #10, Galasek(or Maduro once fit) can be the defensive midfielder. Now that i think of it i really like that midfield :D It kicks ass!!! :headbang:

I Guess thats why they called it "Total Football"...anyways i dont think we can label that team with any formation, the 2-1-2-2-3 could easaly fall into a 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 so its really hard to tell the actual formation. Good luck at school ;)

I agree with the idea of he who is in form plays beside the Hunter. A way to keep the other strikers hungry. Given the injury situation,I like the idea of a midfield of Rosales-Galasek(I read where he may re-sign for Ajax)-Sneijder-Emanuelson.Depending on the opposition, I could see Maduro(when healthy) instead of Rosales. More defensive muscle. Keep Juanfran as left back and allow Urby to get forward.

About the Hunter and CL:
Under new UEFA regulations this season, clubs can exceptionally register one additional player who has already played in European competition from the Round of 32 onwards, provided the new team is taking part in a different UEFA competition.

I only count 2 forwards and as much as 4 midfielders in your line-up. Are you proposing to play 442 after KJH arrives? KJH choose Ajax mainly because they play 433. And KJH is the first number 9 in years to actually fit that system. He wouldn't appreciate it much if Blind sticks to the 442. Nor would I.
The only trouble with that is that it's bull. We don't have the wingers, do we? You need 4 good wingers to play 433 over a long period of time because wingers somehow tire and injure easily. We have two. Rosales and Mitea(remember him?). Both still have a lot to learn as well.
That brings us back to the 442(or 4312, with Sneijder playing on 10). My guess is that we'll see a lot of that sytem. It's the sensible thing to do, looking at the players. Unless we get a winger in the coming winter break. For the long haul, Van Geel cs. should scout two good new wingers. Sell our Greek forward to help raise money for it. Then maybe next year we'll play in a 433 again.
As for the Heerenveen match there is little doubt. 442 with Harry and Markus up front. The news of KJH's signing hasn't hurt them thusfar, so who knows, perhaps they'll both score twice on the night.

Judging from playing style Rosenberg should be the best choice to play with Huntelaar. :xyxthumbs:

I was counting Rosales and Emanuelson in duel roles. It seems they are about the only wide players, wing players, capable of putting a cross in. If Ajax play 4-4-2, it's because of a dearth of wing choices.I would L-U-V love to see two excellent wingers pouring in crosses to THE HUNTER. I just don't trust Boukhari or Pienaar to do that.Mitea is hurt. Maxwell is out. That leaves Rosales on one side and maybe Emanuelson on the other as of today.

This frosty photo was taken in Holland today. By the look of this picture I'd say that there's a good chance that KJH has already played his last match for Heerenveen, last week against RKC.

Doesn't matter what side we put out tomorrow now. Feyenoord have just hammered six past Willem. We've got to win just to stand still!

Let's just get the three points and start building.

Yesterday night I dropped a Heerenveen supporter that I know a text, and he replied that the pitch of Abe Lenstra Stadium is pretty much snow-free and in good condition. The people at the club say the game can (and will) be played.
