A rather easy win for #32 against an opponent of very little quality. Despite some lackadaisical play the club looked quite active pressing and hitting open men creating some very dangerous opportunities. Only some courageous play from the Willem II keeper kept the score down.
Player ratings:
Vermeer (7) - one very good save in the first half on a free kick but otherwise untroubled
Blind (7.5) - didn't have to do much defending and his offensive play was excellent
Moisander (7) - steady game as usual
Alderwiereld (7.5) - really strong game
van Rhijn (7) - not much defending to do and decent moving forward
Schöne (6.5) - fairly quiet game; came off at half time
Eriksen (8) - best game in quite some time, great free kicks and tremendous field vision
de Jong (7) - two garbage goals but they count just the same
Fischer (7) - continuing to improve each week
Sigthorrson (7) - got the game winning goal
Babel (8) - wicked crosses and solid play, hope he finds a good club next season
Poulsen (6.5) - only had a couple of touches and didn't have much defending to do
Hoesen (7) - alert play and nice to see him get on the scoreboard
Boerrigter (7) - solid coming on
As the tulips bloom the others swoon and Ajax emerge on top!!!! WELL DONE!

A word of appreciation for FdB...
Since he's taken over as coach the team has dominated the Eredivisie.
He's demanding, consistent, professional and a winner.
I hope we don't lose him any time soon.

Sang that in a karaoke in Helsinki. Maybe not as well as the great Mercury

but with passion. There were celebrations in the town squares, too bad there is only two ajax fans in Helsinki

Got to make another trip to Amsterdam (My first one was against utrecht last season. It was bitter cold, a 0-2 defeat, and the stadium was only half full. It looked a lot better today!

This could be the start of something even more beautifull. Hope we can keep the core of this team intact. Even though I think Eriksen has not always played that well, he plays in a position that is hard to fill if he leaves. Fischer played a great debut season and I'm glad Moisander did well to to replace Verthongen. Maybe he was not that flashy, but handled his defensive duties well and contributed offensively as well.

Also notable about FdB's coaching ability is the fact that since he became our coach, we've been absolutely balls out good in the second half of the season.
Although I'm not that much familiar with the "balls out good" expression, I'd like to remind the fact that the second half of the season in 2009/2010 with Martin Jol was much more impressive than any half season with FDB (15 wins, 2 draws, a lot of goal scored and not so much conceded).
In the end FDB have won three titles with 73 to 76 points, whereas the champion had 86 in 2010, 80 in 2009 (and 72 in 2008). So if I can only praise FDB attitude, philosophy, etc. I still some room for improvement for his 4th title in a row next season.

Agreed. We were pretty good those years, just a bit unlucky. And we've been a bit lucky in the last three years (especially last year, imo).
Still, I get the sense that things have really turned around for our beloved club, something which would be proven by a few more titles.
