The pitch is just dreadful for any professional club at the beggining of the season.

Just tuned in. There's a good stream here as well - excellent picture but Chinese commentary so getting even the players names is difficult....

Van der Wiel is never joining attacks as well as Anita. They stay back to mark those attacking midfielders.

Wow a lot of criticism from the faithful. We are playing a club that spent a gazillion €s on players over the past 18 months. We don't measure up talent wise but what other club team does? We need to be more convincing with our passes so that we don't give the ball away too freely in the midfield. I think de Jong had exactly one touch in the whole half and we need to figure out a way to get him the ball in the middle. Defense was as good as could be expected and sure the pinball goal was tough to take but that's what happens. Ronaldo has been controlled for the most part but at the expense of letting Marcelo run pretty free. It's hard to see where our goal will come from today but I think we can get one.

The defence has had some sloppy moments, but that's not the problem to me.
The issue is midfield where our passing is very poor and we continually lose possession ... once they have the ball they create a chance. Unless they start to impose in the middle of the park they're still going to get battered.

Steks is having a fantastic game though....

Anita WAS the scorer, ultra-slow-motion replay showed that conclusively. Unlucky goal, but no more than R.M. deserved.

We need to find some control of the midfield from somewhere, the two forwards have had no service whatsoever, though Suljemani has looked quite lively on the couple of occasions he has had the ball. Ajax's midfield has been totally anonymous except for De Zeeuw kicking people up in the air.

Jose must be furious that his team aren't leading by four or five.

Im not excpecting any good thing from these games, but we need those to see where we stand. These kind of games can make us stronger in the Eredivisie I believe.

agree on all, just I don't know how in the hell we can manage to score..we play too slowly in the few chances we have for counters..we have completely another rhytm at this level. but who knows..that goal conceded makes me crazy, when it was 0-0 the only REAL risk was Higuain's crossbar.

One of the things apparent from some of the halftime clips was that we are not spreading the field enough when we get the ball. There are few passing lanes which is why slow passes get interecepted. Well, second half about to get going. FORZA Ajax!

2-0, and what sort of marking was that! OG is right, Real have spent squillions so the result isn't a disgrace (so far) but the performance, especially in key area's is poor. Real are just passing it around - don't appear to be breaking sweat even to me.
