Even on Iraq television feed, the crowd at the Arena are not too pleased with the team's performance!

This is bad enough to cause any self respecting Iraqi and Ajax supporters everywhere to throw shoes as a sign of disrespect and dissgust.

the truth is that the team does not care about this game...thats what happens when you qualify ahead of time, its the same case for Aston Villa...i really dont know what to root for...if we score we finish in second.....if we loose by a bigger margin its going to be more frustrating :confused.gif:

I get your point but MVB should have played a reserve team rather than this excuse of a first team!

Wow - that was a totally shameless dive. :blush.gif: But he deserved one about 10 minutes ago which wasn't given.

Play for pride and for the shirt. Pride at not being embarassed in their own stadium. Where is the heart ? In Philly recently, the Flyers coach questioned the heart of his team when they were 5:1 down. He also said that the fans had driven thru awful weather to be entertained. And the team wasn't giving them their moneys worth. The Flyers showed heart and guts and won 6:5. Perhaps Van Basten should question his bunch of professionals.

ok 2 - 2 2nd place for ajax as villa's reserves are getting demolished. CL opposition, its not great, im terrified, however im more disturbed by our performance we must seriously improve against De graff and ADO because we havent played that well since losing to AZ; utrecht, volendam and NAc were not brilliant performances, we've gotta win these last two league matches to have any chance of winning the title after the break

Glad for any result after this poor excuse for shite. Proof positive again that we need help in midfield and defense . :laughing.gif: :laughing.gif: As for the not showing up mindset and the lackadaisical attitude , MvB needs to put his squad on notice well before Sunday at HT. I seem to recall less than stellar results v. De Graafschap and ADO Den Haag.

Suarez should have been given the 1st penalty in the 2 nd half. The one with the goalie and the one given were not penalties. Apart from him trying to get a penalty that was it for most of our game. Piss poor performance.

If we get Elia I will be pleased but we still need a couple of really good defenders.

Kowalczyk schreef:Okay. Here's the deal. If we win the group, we get a #3 from another UEFA Cup group. If we finish 3rd, we get a UEFA Cup group winner. We can't really say anything about those opponents yet, because there are still games to be played.

If we finish 2nd in the group, we face a #3 from a Champions League group, namely one of the following:

Girondins Bordeaux
Olympique Marseille
Werder Bremen
Shakhtar Donetsk
Aalborg
Fiorentina
Dinamo Kiev
Zenit St. Petersburg

I say: let's seriously try to win this group. Could be very important.

K.
ok so like always we fucked up so......who will it be ???? i dont like any of'em but i would prefer Bordeaux or AAlborg.....crap i really think we are fucked against this bunch :frusty.gif:

Seems about the best we can hope for is Aalborg. Visions of FCK on that one. The worst would be any of the other seven. Sad !!!

Thanks for the reminder. I was on Carolina (the road dog) and they were up 5-1 after two periods. That comeback, by the way, was a franchise record for the Flyers. Ajax could use that spirit. But out of all games in the world, why did you have to mention that one?

Sorry. Should've chosen the Jim Rooker walks to Pittsburgh game from circa 1989. In that game, The Pirates were leading the Phillies 9 or 10 - nil when Jim Rooker, their announcer said "If the Pirates lose this game, I'll walk back to Pittsburgh". Jim Rooker did end up walking the 303 odd miles back to Pittsburgh. A charity ended up benefiting from his foot-in-mouth disease and Philadelphia's heart that night.

To all, Sorry for digressing from footie, but I'm simply pointing to the need for the Ajax players to put their hearts and skills into the matches. Too much autopilot crap for my liking.

Agreed, our players seem to lack the heart to win matches. However, what's even more worrying is the fact that after 7 months of Van Basten this team still can't string more than 2 passes together.

Its just not the passing. They are taking too long to make up their minds + there is insufficient movement. We really need to be playing a fast paced push and run style of football if we are to become successful.

I also feel that their confidence levels are paper thin.
