Only if we sell Van der Wiel. I don't think Boula wants to sit on the bench.

Maybe if vertonghen leaves ? Boulah can play in the center too

I'd have him in centre denfence. But a lot will depend on who leaves.

Ronnie Stam , Twente's right back and AZ third goalie , Jordi Deckers are being lined up so looks like we
anticipate Greg and Steks will leave shortly.Not very happy with another player from Twente as Wielaert and Kennedy were not good signings.
As for another goalie well Bizot would be our 3rd choice goalie but he has not played for the Jong yet so I quess we need another goalie who has had a bit of experience and he has sat on the AZ bench . I believe he played at Telstar last season .

I doubt Twente will sell us any players as their management really does not like ours. If they do sell, it would be at a super high inflated price.

Rumours 'bout we are interested in Carew...naaa, I don't believe them.

I just hope that we don't give Stam a 4-5 year contract only to see him bomb like the other Twente players who've tried their luck at Ajax.

Do we really need to sign AZ's third goalie? Surely we can find some guy from the youths to sit on the bench?? Or is this guy promising?

I've seen some rumours about our interest in Lukaku - that 17 year old Belgian from Anderlecht who played against us last year in Europa league. Would be nice to see him with, but he won't be any cheap i think.

If Steks goes I imagine we want a 3rd choice goalie who has a bit of experince .We have the best youth goalies in the country but they have had little or no experience at Jong level .

Last season by signing Verhoeven as our no 3 we had Sergio Padt(Dutch U 21 reserve) not getting much Jong games and he then went on loan at Haarlem but played 1 game as they folded.Marco Bizot( Dutch U 19 no 1) was promoted to the Jong but did not play any games and was unused sub. He did not play many A1 games as Warner Hahn(Dutch U17 no 1) was the regular A1 goalie.

Imo we cocked up last season by not letting either Padt or Bizot get games , in fact Bizot stated his season was wasted as he barely played any football.

Padt has now gone out to GA Eagles on loan . Bizot will hopefully get some Jong games as 4th choice goalie and Hahn has to spend another year in the A1.

If Steks goes and say Vermeer gets an injury the club feel they need another goalie who has had some experience to sit on the bench. This Az lad has sat on their bench a handful of times but evidently did not play as no 1 for Telstar last season .

So, Ajax tell the press that they want Ronnie Stam (whom we don't really want, of course). Then we follow the car of the Twente scout and instead of Ronnie Stam we buy the dude they're talking to.



They're not aware of it, but Twente's scouting department work for Ajax.

Another rumor I just read along with Rosales from Gent, is to try and get Grygera back on loan from Juventus. I think Boulahrouz would be a great addition. I've been a bit weary of him in Oranje and at clubs abroad, but think he can more than handle going head to head in the Eredivisie.

There's talk of involving Braafheid in the VDW deal. I don't think I like that idea at all.

We are supposedly (very) interested in Dembele and Hamdaoui from AZ. Both players did not come tot Cologne with AZ for matches as they are finalising a transfer deal, according to AZ.nl .

Rumours are that Ajax wants both.

Maybe the number 9 shirt has been left open for Carew?

There are reports of us being interested in Jozy Altidore....interesting. His manager apparently says that Ajax scouts have seen him play.

He would be a very interesting acquisition. I think there were rumors last year as well. I feel that he would really benefit as a player in the Eredivisie as opposed to England. It would allow him to really blossom as solid attacking player as he needs lots of work on some fundamentals. As I recall, Villareal paid $10 M for him (can't remember what the Euro exchange rate was at the time) and given his performance of the past year I would be quite surprised if he goes for more than €10 M and some where in the €6-8 M range is more like his current value.

After seeing him in the WC, I would say he needs lots of work on lots of fundamentals -- as far as I could tell, the only things he had going for him were size and speed. Everything else looked to be well below standard.

Having said that, he would certainly fit the mold of an Emile Hesky type forward that (IMO) Ajax has needed for a while, in order to allow the more creative players freedom to do their thing -- so it might prove an interesting acquisition if it should happen.

i think that "a lot of work" is an understatement, i dont personally rate him at all.. for any team.. ever.. but if we do get him, i hope to god he proves me wrong..

Just read that Marcus Berg is close to signing for PSV. Don't know why we didn't try to get him, and we all now he's good, really good.
