apparently, boulahrouz said he would have come to ajax and not been paid to play if he had to as he was really wanting the move.. whether or not hes that fit, i still think he would of been good to have..

According to a report in Berner Zeitung, Eredivisie powerhouse Ajax are closely monitoring the situation of promising youngster Nassim Ben Khalifa, currently playing at Grasshoppers.

Ajax are in the market for a new attacker due to the ongoing uncertainty about the future of star player Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan international is continually being linked with a move away from Amsterdam and could leave Ajax at the end of the season.

The 18-year-old Ben Khalifa is a versatile attacker who can play in every position up front. The youngster was part of the Swiss side that won the Under-17 World Cup last year and has since been linked with a move to a bigger club more than once.

However, it remains to be seen whether Ajax have the financial resources to meet Grasshoppers' demands. The Swiss side have reportedly set a €3.5 million asking price for Ben Khalifa.

Strange, strange news from Ajax Netwerk:

According to ESPN and La Nacion Ajax has made an offer for Nicolas Gaitan (Boca Juniors). Even though we don't have money, we have offered 15 million dollars (something like 11 million euros) according to those sources.

Highly unlikely, but these sources are in fact not unreliable. Has Ajax sold someone for an huge amount? Even if that is the case, don't we have enough players for our attacking positions (even if someone was leaving)?

would maybe suggest a suarez deal has already been done, and the money already (part) spent

not seen that myself, but if its true, (not saying your lying.. just dont trust paper talk) then it would explain the other rumours..

What position does Gaitan paly as I read midfield . Why on earth do we need another attacking MF .

MF is the area where I do not expect any new faces this summer. 2or3 defenders if Vertonghen and V d Wiel both went and up front maybe 2or3 if Pantelic and Suarez both go .

According to a Dutch newspaper Ajax is interested in Dembele, who has only one year remaining on his contract. Not clear if this is BS or true.

If there is any truth to this rumor, it would point to A) Suarez leaving; or B) Jol's Philadelphia - Eagle-like policy regarding players over thirty , i.e. Marko Pantelic.

Agh! As a longtime Fiorentina fan (probably my number two club - my son is a total Viola fanatic), I hope the Mutu rumor is indeed nonsense. Fiorentina has had a disappointing campaign, and I believe that all the turmoil surrounding Mutu (drug suspensions, nightclub brawls) is a big part of the reason. I can't imagine he would be a good influence on our youngsters.

We were after Tomas Necid (190 cm,19 years old Czech) from CSKA Moscow but our offer was rejected.

Does rejected mean he is holding out for more money or he does not want to come to Ajax?

Or Moscow rejected the offer???

Van Boog, is he the financial director? says no money this summer. I think we will only buy if Suarez goes. Steks and V d Wiel would be replaced in house ie Vermeer and Blind. Urby by Lodeiro Sulejmani and Eriksen . If Pantelic and Suarez both leave I think we would buy a replacement and that could be the only new face.

Talk suggests we will use more youth but the only 2 from the Jong would be Kappelhof and Will as spare
defenders.Are they going to take a punt on youth wingers Jozefzoon and Ebecilio after all Eriksen never bothered with the Jong team he just went from A1 to 1st.

anyone other than me think that Siem de Jong might make a more than decent striker? He's darn good in the air and handles the ball better than Marko at this point. Interesting to contemplate.

Van Basten did think so too for a moment last season. Can't recall which game though. Wasn't such a succes.

If Arsenal draw us I don't think they will consider it an easy draw.
