Read about it here two or three weeks ago, thought it was just gossip though as clubs here like to say their players are linked with big clubs so they could raise their price.
Hamburg is also supposed to be interested in the player.

I've only seen him once or twice so not sure what to think. Everyone here in Slovenia seem to agree that he is a very talented creative midfielder and is despite the age of 19 years already a captain at his club NK Celje.
Price should be around 1 million.

He's best in the center of the pitch, behind the strikers, but can also play as a winger or forward. In Club he played mostly as a central midfielder while in the U19 national team he played as a forward.

De Zeeuw was also considered as "another midfielder" when he was signed.
And it's not like we already have thousands of convincing offensive midfielders. I count 0. Maybe Eriksen will be one, but the man only played 1 game and he's not yet 18...

Anyway, AZ seems to have the better papers to sign Lodeiro : they are ready to pay more (some 5 millions dollar + a percentage on the next sale) and wait until July.

Hull and another English side are interested in him, but he says he would prefer Ajax and playing for Jol again. I think he's worth the headache if Ajax could get him cheap for more attacking cover.

As this is Ajax , whose transfer record is dreadful ,I would imagine we will buy this Uruguayan kid in 2011
from Az for about 15m .

In the last 10 years we have only done well on 2 signings KJH and Suarez , and in both cases better scouting meant we could have bought them in the first case on the cheap.(de Zeeuw so far looks ok.)

I cannot help but be cynical after all how many players did we let go 5 years ago on bosmans!!!!! After letting loads of our 1995 team leave for nothing we still let Maxwell Pienaar Trabelsi Grygera go for nothing and deJong for next to nothing as his contract was nearly up.And look at the present shambles

Given that this will be the third year in a row we do not get to the CL qualifiers and 6th in a row without the championship I would play 11 from the academy after all we could not be much worse !! The current back 4 are academy may not be great but they are all miles better than the 4 rubbish defenders they are keeping out.( granted replacing de Zeeuw and Suarez from the academy would not be quite so easy !!!!!!!!)

It does seem as if the Urugayan would like to come here but Az have offered to pay a % of any profit and this must be a bargaining tool.

We need a decent attacking MF more than any other position as Aissati is too lightweight and de Jong does not look the answer and Eriksen needs time as he has only played youth soccer until last week.

Aggh. You may be right, but I am just not a fan of this guy at all. Maybe BMJ can keep him in line, but I think he's a cancer.

re: Lodeiro . Az appear to have offered 6.3m euros our first bid was 2.5m with 1m add on. Looks like we will have to bid more to get him.

I wouldn't touch Mido . He never stays more than a season anywhere and has not done much since he left us.

I've only read that AZ offered 5 millions $, so 3,5 millions €. I would prefer that as I really don't see Ajax spending more than 6 millions.

Please, god, no Mido. We've been down that road before.

Last news about Lodeiro : Nacional is close to reach an agreement with AZ, the player can discuss with them for a contract, but they are ready to wait until tomorrow for better offers. Marcel Brands from AZ is also quoted by De Telegraaf saying Ajax have "the first chance/option"? ("eerste kans")
I'm usually not excited when it comes to recruit a player, I don't care that much about that, but I think it would be a real shame to miss this player (especially if he goes to AZ!!!), as all the people who knows Lodeiro are quite positive (something that could not be said about Atouba or Kerlon at the time... )

This afternoons rumours say we fancy Braafheid,Boulahrouz and KJH . Wishful thinking.

A report from english wikepedia says we have agreed a3.5m euro deal for Lodeiro.

Finally we appear to have said no to Mido, now that is good news.

The kid is a fucking "crack", Lodeiro is a master with the ball, he can pass, he can shoot( with both legs), he can dribble, this kid is going to be GOOD !!!!....excuse me IS GOOD !!!!!. This should be a no brainer for Ajax and whats more important is that he wants to be here, press reports state that he "dreams about a move to ajax, but would be happy being in Holland with AZ". To be honest we dont have a player like him on the squad, he is a true number 10 The only player who is even close is Aissati and he is very injury prone...Buy HIM ASAP !!!! In the future we will get great money for him when the big boys from spain and italy come hunting for his signing. Hell, Suarez might even think about staying another season if he forms some good chemistry with the lad, that alone should be enough for us to sign him.

This is good news and a sign that things are moving in the right direction. It will be interesting to see what kind of a player he turns out to be compared to Sulejmani. Difference in transfer fees is dramatic.

Yes, it really is a sign of some forward thinking!!! Hopefully we've got a new playmaker in the making, at a reasonable price. Just hope that our existing youngsters aren't frozen out...!!!
