Yeah they got him for Jong Ajax. But it truly is remarkable. He kept pestering Jol or someone for a week I think and kept asking for a trial. They found out that he was a under-19 international for South Korea and decided to give him a chance. Hopefully it works out for him from here on.

That's sort of what I was wondering about. I heard about him on trial, but it seemed like he came out of nowhere. Maybe made more remarkable since he didn't seem to go to Amsterdam for some of the more traditional tourists reasons (closest without a wiet smiley, I guess)

i see salcido has stated he's looking for a new club... can we not just go pluck him? i cant believe hes not a starter there anymore and he can play all 3 backline positions at the same level

Not a bad deal voor 6 mln pounds. I am not very keen on Babel, but this is a bargain.

If this guy was actually played as a striker instead of a left winger or left side midfielder as I saw this week, he could still become a good goalscorer. Not in the KJH or Suarez class but he would still score goals . He should be an advert to all our younsters as to why they should not leave too soon but stay here until thery are 23 /24 and become the finished article.

Media in Croatia reports that Ajax is interested in their U-21 international and Club Brugge attacking midf. Ivan Perišić. HSV and Hertha also watching him. Price should be 2-3mil.

Just beat me to it. He is evidently joining us for 3.5 years and is a talented defender. I read back in the summer Man u wanted him so if do get him that is quite something.

Given we have not won the title for 5 years I believe the way forward is through the youth and not keep on buying dross like we have done .Donald today meant we had 7 academy players on the field.

I still think you should not be able to sign kids from another country until they are 18 . I think we are getting this kid for next to nothing which is not right.

On the other hand, he will receive a football education that is better than most and second to none. Seems like a good deal both ways to me.

He will get a great football education here . We do seem to have 2 of Denmark's best young talent and it is positive they want to come to us and not going to go and lose themselves at Man U or Chelski etc.
with all the other foreign kids.

I would not be happy with us stealing 15 years olds like Arsenal and Chelsea have done and still believe UEFA FIFA should ban transfer of all U18's .

We did of course take on 15 year olds from Germinal Beerschot of Antwerp a few years ago with Vermaelen, Vertonghen and Alderweireld all coming as 15 year olds but we owned GBA and
taking kids from Antwerp is hardly the same as knicking kids from Denmark .
Lets face it Antwerp is only about 100 miles from Amsterdam and Flemish is basically Dutch it was part of Holland before 1830!
In the 5 years since our last Flemish signing our youth system has barely seen a non Dutch kid until Eriksen . (A greek goalie for a couple of seasons who now plays in Volendam and Danilo who has a Belgium passport but has lived in Amsterdam for a few years )

Ajax and Bronby have agreed compensation terms and Boilsen will sign a3.5 year contract this week.

I see Boilsen was born 16.2 1992 so he is very nearly 18 and we did pay compensation so we are not really stealing a kid.

17 years isn't a kid? Doesn't exactly sound like a grizzled veteran to me .

The key thing is that we compensated Bronby whereas Arsenal, ManU, and other big clubs just swoop in and pluck the kids away with promises and no compensation. I don't think Ajax falls in that category.

I am against u18's going abroad but trying to justify it is ok buying a kid 6 weeks short of his 18th and I believe we paid several thousand euros for him.

My anti under 18 is due to the child thieves called Arsenal and Chelsea who steal 15 year olds ie Ozyakup and Bruma were both 15 when stolen from Az and Fword respectively and I doubt any compensation was paid.

Ajax have done this with our Belgium players as I quoted in last weeks post.

Just watching the Porto - Setubal match.....commentator has just said that Beluishi is strongly linked to ajax for after Christmas! Anyone know anything about this???
