That news about Bojan came out in Spain several weeks ago. At the time, El Mundo Deportivo said that Van Gaal and Ten Cate would be "pleased" to have him in their squad next season.

The only things I know about him is that he scored hundreds of goal with the youth teams of Barcelona (about 800...), he scored for his first game with the first team, a friendly in Egypt against Al-Ahly this week (4-0) and he plays with Barcelona B since november 2006 and scores about 1 goal every two matches with them.

In other words, if you have to chose only one youth of Barcelona, that would be him. Now, I don't really like the idea to become (once again ?) the sattelite club of Barcelona.

flat no... messi starred in the WYC in the netherlands in 2005, so everyone in the country knew who he was certainly no later than then - i think he'd also had his barca first team debut by then and was one of the most famous youth prospects in the world for a few years

I loved the possible interest in Engelaar. A physical and goal scoring presence in mf ; what with the probable departure of Sneijder, definite departure of Roger, and possible departure of Gabri; would be high on the list of needs. As for Bojan Krkic , someone to look at if The Hunter leaves .

I think we should loan Bojan, as a second striker especially since Huntelaar may leave and Manucharyan is always injured and Babel is played as winger.

HEY COOL EMOTICONS

Swedish media reports today that, McDonald Mariga, 20 year old kenyan international currently playing for Helsinborg here in Sweden, was yesterday studied by Mr. Ten Cate himself in Helsinborgs game vs Elfsborg. "A deal is not far away", according to aftonbladet.se.

This guy has a great potential, although I am not sure he's ready to take a midfield spot in Ajax already next season. [/url]

I heard a rumor that Ajax are interested in that Kennedy guy from Twente.

He's physical player (187 cm, 80 kg), good on his head. He can improve his technical skills a little bit. My guess is that the guy can handle both rolls (defensive or offensive) at the midfield. He's a quite rare mix of one Sneijder and one strong defensive player like Makelele.

Good potential.

Ajax are chasing for Rostock Hansa talent, Germany under-16 team striker Felix Kroos. Bayern, Werder, Man UTD and Chelsea also want him.
Btw, a year ago Bayern signed his brother Tony Kroos (17), who, acording to football scouts, is one from 10 best young players in the world.

According to Novum news agency Ajax want to land FC Haarlem goalkeeper Erik Heijblok as their third goalie for next season, behind Maarten Stekelenburg and Dennis Gentenaar. Kenneth Vermeer may be loaned out to an Eredivisie side.

Heijblok is 28 and his contract at Haarlem will expire this summer, so he can be signed up on a free transfer. The goalkeeper played in the Ajax youth for a number of years. He moved on to amateur side Hollandia and spent the last four seasons at FC Haarlem.

Read about it on another message board, where someone quoted an unnamed newspaper article.

yep sounds too me like just another krohn deli. Though i must say I am intrigued by this kenyan dude. And i agree that Engelaar would be a very nice buy. Looks like ten cate is tired of the smurfs in midfield and is looking to add some physical presence.

I`m al for that :headbang.gif:

i saw heijblok play a few weeks ago, and had seen him two other times

he seems a smart angles type keeper, seems to stay cool in traffic and goes up strong on crosses - on the downside, he's not the quickest, most agile shot stopper you ever saw

So, basically the opposite of Steks in every way.

lol

personally, i think criticizing stek is very 2005, he's generally been quite good this season and i would not consider him to be weak on crosses or a spaz in the area

Voetbal International reports:

Laurent Delorge is the first squad addition for Ajax in the coming season. The 27 year old Belgian comes from relegated ADO Den Hague and has signed a contract for two seasons.

Ajax see this addition as adding strength in midfield. In a disappointing season for ADO the Belgian played in an attacking midfield role. He scored five and had six assists.

For Delorge it is the second time in his career that he signs for a top club. In the season 2005/2006 Anderlecht was his employer was. The contract came to an end when it appeared that Delorge had been involved involved in a "match fixing affair" at his previous employer Lierse SK. He was dismissed on the spot.

So....another Belgian, ex-ADO, previously involved in a match-fixing scandal....
Good news or bad news anyone???

Well that's certainly very legally worded (lol). The scandals in Belgium are well known but was there any sort of trial in this case? or is everyone just tainted by association with nothing proven or able to be disproved.

I've seen a bit of Delorge this season in the highlights of the Den Haag games and he looked one of their better players....not saying much I know.

Presumably if there was anything credible against this guy he'd have got a FIFA ban???

I agree with what I think you are saying, on the face of it, not good to sign this guy but I can't get away from the fact that he could be totally innocent.....

..oh, and maybe it's because I'm not Dutch so don't have the "history" so much but I've no problem with signing a player from ADO. And ayway, after one season it's not like he's totally associated with that team.

(by what MP says it sounds like he's totally associated with something far worse....)

Frankly, corruption scandals are very frequent here. The politicians are the worst...there's a new scandal every week. Even a member of the royals got caught recently (it was all a "misunderstanding" apparently). And yet...very few seem to be convicted. Anyway read the link below on the match fixing scandal:

http://www.eufootball.biz/Competitions/2178.html

I quote the most relevant bit:

In addition, two ex-Lierse players, Marius Mitu and Laurent Delorge, were let go by current club Anderlecht after admitting to investigators that they influenced the outcome of matches while playing for Lierse last season.

“During discussions this morning, the players admitted to me that they had been involved in this match-fixing at Lierse," Anderlecht general manager Herman Van Holsbeeck said. "We have no confidence in these players and have decided now to terminate their contracts with immediate effect.”

Seems pretty clear if you ask me....
