Well, they had Raul Bravo as a defender, who I think was
& still is the best comic genius cum defender.

I'm not passing judgements on Filipe, but Real's signings have stopped making sense a long time ago. Currently they have 5 forwards!!!!!.....Raul, Ronaldo, Owen, Robinho, Baptista.

Seriously, though: Filipe will play for Real Madrid-B, their reserves team who are playing in a lower division as an independent 'club' (just like Barcelona Athletic). It's a safe bet that he'll never set foot on the pitch of Bernabeu.

But you never know.

The funny thing about the whole affair is that they turned down their interest in Gabriel Milito, a talented argentine defender, because the medical staff had some bad ideas about a banged up knee he had brought from Independiente(his former team in Argentina).It was kind of like the Kone transfer problem here at Ajax.They paid the price dearly loosing to Milito`s team Real Zaragoza in the "copa del rey" final. Whats even worse is the fact that they bought Woodgate when he was already injured turns out the injury was way,wayyyy more serious then they had imagined. Imagine that we bought Mitea being injured for an estimated four weeks and then finding out that hes going to be absent for 9 month, man that really sucks. Anyways i hate Real Madrid so I just laughed at the manner. Screw the Bastards.

Best of luck. Think he could do well there, but wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't. He'll certainly have a better chance at seeing meaningful minutes than he did in Italy.
