It seems very unlikely that we would reach the end of this transfer period without hiring any new player (we’ve got money to spend).
But why isn’t there any information about it ? Strange silence from Ajax.

I hope they keep it in silence because they are finalizing the deals with the players we need : a good central defender, and a striker ... haha dream on...
Btw, Juhasz played yesterday for Anderlecht, so he won't be available in european games... and still nobody mentioned him as a solution for us...

Is there any player who is "european quality" central defender and is eligible for europa cup games if he sign with us?
About the striker : Afonso Alves would be great addition i guess, also would love to see Benni again too... norwegian striker i did not heard about but seems like he would do good for us.. (maybe next zlatan?)

The last rumour is 'bout a french sriker of Zurich, Eric Hassli, that according the swiss press was left on the bank for 80 minutes in the CL qualifier 'cause is flirting with ajax, who informed theirselves about the trasnfer fee. and he is quoted saying something like "playing for ajax would be a dream".

I've seen him play when Zurich played Maribor in CL qualifications. He's strong, good heading and holds up ball up front well, but i don't see him as goalscorer. But would be nice to have him if the price is not to high, could be a good support for Luis.

back in topic: I insist that afonso alves would be good for us...he has the skills and the experience and should be motivated..but also the norwegian guy is interesting, is tall and technical although he is not a typical central striker.

You know, I check out this forum every day hoping that by some miracle there is going to be some news of a key signing -- and every day I go away with the same disgusted feeling. How can they be so hopeless -- why can every other team sign the players we are supposedly going after and we wind up with nothing? The way I'm grinding my teeth these days I expect they will all turn into powder.

Maybe he'll be more useful at that moment then. I mean: Ajax can't buy players before they need them, just in case. They already have some serious troubles to buy the players they need now (and those are not midfielders, though this area could also be improved).

How many players have we "checked out" without signing a one of them. It would be like a breath of fresh air if there was a report that we actually did sign some one. I hope I'm sitting down when I hear the news.

- because they don't want to pay 30 million for him in 2-3 years. This is what we should be doing.
