To be honest i really dont think we need a striker, in the current 4-4-2 formation we have enough strikers, with Suarez,Sulejmani and Cvitanich rotating plus Bodul being used for backup. What we really need is a freaking nasty defender...Dervite is not the solution, he's another Aldeweireld type.

I agree with you if bodul stays..but he's leaving on loan probably..in that case we wouldn't have a proper central, tall striker.

I'd sign him if the price is right. He's had niggling injuries in recent years . That said, he is definitely in a different striker mold than either Micky or Civa. Wouldn't mind have a large target for games when we need to throw people forward or give one of our two main CFs a breather . Definitely a different match-up problem than Micky or Civa.

We should get Negredo. He seems unwanted at Madrid despite being hot talent.

Im pretty sure he alread stated in the English media about 1-2 weeks ago that he wasnt ready for a return to Holland yet. Apparently a few english clubs are after him.

When I first looked at this post I thought that you were saying that he was clueless. I thought your post was very accurate !!!!!! until I looked a wee bit closer. Just shows you see what you want to see at times.

Back to this player though - I thought that we all shared the ambition that Ajax become a great force again in Europe. If so do we really think that this is the class of player we should be going for?

Er ... am I the only one to get nervous about the fact it's mid August and we've not signed extra players?

He's tipped to sign for Hull, and with all due respect Ajax is a bigger club.

There are many players who have won trophys at both Rangers and Celtic who would not even get into most EPL teams. That is how bad the league is. Someone could win 10 league titles in the American League for example, dosen't really make them good enough for Ajax in my opinion. I've seen enough of him in Scotland to assure me he isn't up to our standard. And if Celtic have released him, that just about tells me all I want to know!

If the price is right I say go for it...remember we are looking for a sub not a starter, Venegoor cant be worse than say Charisteas or Anastassiou...can he ? So if his wages arent so high i would say yes to this transfer.

exactly, hes looked pretty poor all season, i think we can do better

i noticed you conveniently skipped right past the 44 goals... point is, " he did nothing" is obvious hyperbole

Long time no post from me... although i read this forum everyday..

"I don't want to talk to home" , but nobody @ Ajax had a look at Roland Juhász from Anderlecht as a possible solution for our defense problems ? I'm kinda surprised...
I know the guy very much,he played for my fav. team in Hungary, he started as a striker (!) , but then became a very decent centre back.. and he is from Hungary also.., and i would like to see him in Ajax , because i think he would be a player, who would fit in very well in our team.
Bayern Munchen fancy him lately, but these are only rumors..
