I agree. I think that Man U should have signed him over the guy they got from Atletico. They would have saved a boat load of cash as well. van der Sar recommended Steks as his replacement and they went for a guy who will never play over Iker for the National team.

Maybe that was one the factors for their choice as well....less chances of injuries.

Right now he is at best the 4th best keeper in Spain, behind Reina and Valdez; both who regularly play in big games.

he is supposed to be travelling to italy shortly to undergo his medical exam. However, despite all terms agreed, Aajax is expecting Roma to provide a bank guarantee of payment to finish the tansfer because the team has already suffered in the past with other italian clubs and their bad credit

Looks like Steks is finally going for between 6 and 8 m euros. Still a decent amount considering he has only 11 months left on his contract and sadly no one other than a very moderate Italian club want him. Hopefully he will be the only main player to go this summer. It is all quiet on Vertonghen and V d Wiel regards rumours.

Just need to sell El Ham , Aissati , Silva, V de Heijden . And then we will still have 9 midfielders so I still think we need to get rid of another ie probably loan.

Because there's only one year left on his contract ... which make it a great deal (for the buyer), and again surpises me no bigger club came in for him.

Pretty simple, nobody else was interested in him. The top ten clubs all have their #1 and ManU were really the only other option but they went with youth in getting De Gea.

Good news that they keep Bouma.

Ok so just read Inter are planning to make a move for Jan The Man. Pur chances of retaining the title and improving in the Champions League will surely take a hit if this happens. Inter will probably get some cash influx by selling Eto to the new rich kids in russia or Sneijder to ManU. Blind already said his price tag is somwhere between 17 and 18 million, but we will have to immediatley reinvest the money on a strong replacement for him. Hope it doesn't happen.

Heerenveen are interested in Van der heijden. They could use this weekend's tripo to Amsterdam to negotiate a deal.

Hope that Fulham buy El Ham and talk today that Jan Arie is at NEC for talks.

One player who is unlikely to go this month is Bruno Silva . He has been out since January with a shoulder injury and is now having another op on it . He is likely to be out of action until the new year . I would now pay him off as he has a contract which only lasts for 10 more months. No one is going to buy him or pay his full wages. Just come to some agreement now and let him go.

That will only leave Aissati who wanted too much money from Utrecht. At best we can hope to do some sort of loan as again no one is going to pay us 1m for his transfer and then have to pay that amount for his salary.

Totally agree. De Gea may be good one day, but I don't think he's in Steks's league right now.

Van der Heijden moves to Vitesse.
