I cannot believe that Silva is still on our payroll. What a joke he is, and what a joke we were for signing him.

Is De Zeeuw really surplus? I mean he did play some poor football during the season but was an important piece in the ending championship run. There's some stuff that tactically he cando that Janssen won't, that is, too pressure more intensely on the opposing holding midfielder and centre backs when they're trying to build up play, even if sometimes he ends up pressuring too high. Janssen won't do that and is a tactical variant we can use.

We have about 10 midfielders and de Boer obviously looks like he is happy to let de Zeeuw go.

I want to close a bunch of threads down: player threads for players who are out of contract and will leave the club.

Atouba - I'm sure about that one. But what about Silva and Oleguer, for example? Are they leaving?

We have so many bad-buys walking around that I kind of lost track...

Oleguer, yes; Silva has one more year on his contract.

Oleguer's contract finishes this month and along with Atouba,Sno Suk Donald and Graafland of our first team squad are leaving.

Apparently jol wants his first signing at fulham to be el ham! Get in!!

He brought him here, he definitely can have him, hopefully paying at least the same amout we invested on him to undo the damage.

Ha, poor Mounir. Good luck to him.

Don't think I can agree about undoing the damage. He can go and surely hasn't worked out 100% but we shouldn't forget he got 13 goals in the year we won the league by one point.

I can't remeber exactly which goals he scored but safe to assume that they weren't all the last goal in games that we were winning anyway.......

I meant the financial damage. In any case, its true he was our top goalscorer and despite being slow or whatever nobody can deny he has some technical prowess.

OK that makes sense yes - if he's not playing he's certainly an expenisive substitute (and as an undoubtably good player someone else will sign him).

I'm really starting to get worried about all the silly rumours about Eriksen leaving Ajax this summer. Today a latinamerican site was firmly stating that Eriksen would leave Ajax this summer. No reliable sources provideed, but I think all this rumours might get in his head. This is the one player Ajax must build a talented team around for the next season at least so I really hpe he stays. He has stated his desire to continue to play for Ajax, but you know how it is this days. If he actually leaves it would mean a terrile blow not inly for Aajax chances to compete, but for the Eredivise as a whole to actually capture talented players.

Ajax should take a leaf out of Barcelona's book. They have had detailed talks with Messi and have built a team around him, with Messi being a floater, but at the centre of everything! Ajax should seriously think about the same thing with Eriksen. When he arrived we knew that he was going to be good, but not this good! Look what he's done in such a short time! At 19 he's the attacking midfielder that we've been searching for...and he's proving that he can do the job for his national team as well. Surely, if the future at Ajax is to nurture and use the youth seriously, Eriksen should be centre of the team.
Forget about all of this crap about him leaving and hope that the management, and Eriksen himself, can see what could be achieved by using the youngsters properly.

Eriksen MUST stay.....along with his Scandinavian colleagues, and the younger achievers in Amsterdam.....they are our future!!!

His agent said yesterday the chances of him leaving this summer are very small and only a bid by Barca would make him think about it. These rumours all started from chelsea wanting him and he has said he is not ready to leave yet.

I hate it when teams like chelsea and especially arsenal, stur up all this kind of stuff. It really bugs me, especially because of when it happens to arsenal, wenger is the first grey faced tool to start moaning about it!

Did Arsenal make a move for Eriksen? I didn't see anything about it.

Barcelona were reportedly looking at Giuseppe Rossi, Alexis Sanchez, and a central defender or two (Puyol surgery and Gabriel Milito is usually hurt). Didn't hear about them looking at Eriksen.

Not sure if this entry belongs here , under Jong Ajax, or under Ajax Youth, but both Ajax Life and the RCD Espanyol website have stories about Marvin Zeegelaar moving to Espanyol B.

The one player we are in danger of losing to Barca (IMO) is Vertonghen who can play CB which they need as per the reasons above. They have some great youth midfielders and don't need to go after Eriksen at this point in time.

A bit surprised to see Zeegelaar getting a 4 year deal at Espanyol.He will only start in their B team in the 2nd division.
