Lodeiro is evidently returning to National in Uruguay .Only played as a sub last season seems to have some potential but not going to be realised here.

Cvitanich also looks like returning to Argentina.

With various Jong players involved in the first team squad I think we should get rid of 10 players in january ,trouble is no one will buy them .

The following all have contracts expiring next June and have no future here imo
Donald ,Suk , Bodul , Oleguer, Sno, Tainio, Atouba, and Graafland (third choice goalie and played 2 Jong games .) I would get rid of these 8 now but Oleguer, Atouba and Sno have large contracts . The other 5 buy off cheaply . In addition Silva,contract runs to 2012 , let him go for nothing if someone is prepared to pay his wages.

At least by clearing some of these out it will give a chance for some other Jong players to come through or even play for the Jong in some cases. Jozefzoon Ebecilio Ozbiliz Bonevacia Zeegelaar all have contracts expiring and no sign of any of them signing new ones as yet .

Ajax have to be ruthless and get rid this winter of the dead wood even if they end up buying out some contracts .

Are we going to have to pay off Lodeiro and Cvitanich?

I think we will get some money for them ,no way will we pay them off.
We cannot afford to pay off the likes of Sno Atouba or Oleguer even though their contracts only run to next summer.

I don't think there is going to be much of a market for Sno and Atouba. Oleguer is still a decent player and might attract some bids from Greece or Turkey as a long shot (I'm not sure he will go back to Spain unless it would be Espanyol because of his political leanings).

Would be nice to see him get a chance when he's not injured before just writing him off.

As a left winger and a Catalan politically I suspect Espanyol (a Barcelona/Catalan based team named after Spain) would be one of the last teams he'd go to if his decisions are influenced by that sort of thing. Doesn't mean much from a corporate point of view any more but I suspect to the fans (and parhaps Oleguer) it still does.

It now appears the Lodeiro to go story was on a twitter page in his name but was all made up and not even his twitter. Ajax have denied the story and say he is not leaving .Which is good because he appears to be a real talent .

Man City and Chelsea evidently are interested so he could be on his way . We should insist on 25m euros about £20M

Hope we do some sort of deal to get rid of him ie he is paid 1.4m euros per year so if we pay half his remaining contract ie 350000euros we get rid of him and may save a few euros. Hope we can do the same with Sno who is also on 1m euros plus in salary .

I remember seeing Sno in the Olympic games a couple of years ago and he really looked solid (probably one of the reasons Van Basten brought him back) but he really never looked decent other than one or two matches for the first team.

Rumours today that Real Madrid will buy Suarez for 21m euros with a further 5m depending on CL success and league titles.Plus Fulham will pay 8m euros for El Hamdaoui. We will see but I would think an offer of 25m up front would see Suarez go in January . As for El Ham I think he has played his last game for Ajax.

The only other rumour this week is Malaga will pay us 18m euros for Steks and Urby.Do not see Steks going there .

Nope, both the Independent and the Telegraph.
Both 'respectable' English broadsheets.

If both Suarez and El Ham go in the window, we will be very short of firepower for the second half of the season.....

That is more respectable, but nonetheless some of the more respectable newspapers were reporting Jol to Fulham as a done deal, iirc. I wouldn't be surprised if one of those two guys goes, but not both. And to be quite frank, I think we're evolving to a point where we won't be as reliant on their skill. I will be sad to see Luis go as he's been very loyal to the club, but I won't be sad if we consistenly start nine or more youth players.

I agree even the 'better' press are often manipulated by clubs, managers, players and agents during the transfer windows to make "signals" that may well not transpire into reality, but still...

Not surprised to see Mido go. Hope we can get rid of Tainio Atouba Sno and Silva this month as they are surplus to our requirements.The first 3 have contracts to June 2011 so should not be a problem but Silva's contract is to June 2012 so we may be lumbered.

Cvitanich wants to go back to Argentina but I did read the clubs there cannot afford him so we will have to see. It would not be a problem if he stayed until the end of the season as I too see either Suraez or El Ham going this month.

I saw it on BBC.co.uk but as said above, its in a few reputable newspapers too... although i dont really believe it... Also... it states that ajax would be willing to accept an offer around £17m...

Redknap said he does not expect Suarez to join Spurs. I bet Spurs know they would have to pay nearer 30m euros than 20 m for him .

The only players I want to see go are Tainio, Atouba Sno, Donald and Bodul , and in addition Silva as we do not need about 3 spare right backs ie Oleguer wont leave before the summer because of his hugh wages and Anita will also be right back cover.

Today's silly rumour comes from the Italian press. Milan liked the look of Eriksen(and so does every big club in Europe) after last month's game and are reported to offer 11m euros in the summer. Nil chance of this happening as the kid seems very level headed and realises he needs to spend 3 or 4 years here before moving .

(Milan want Van Bommel aged 33 which seems more like it for a club who do not do youth . )

Eriksen to Milan would be suicidal for the the kid. He will completely be demoralised in Italy. Even matured fragile players (like Bergkamp in the 90's) didn't succeed.

If we manage to keep Eriksen for another 2 or 3 years it would be awesome. He is truly a great talent and De Boer really sees the qualities of Christian. Christian also speaks Dutch flawlessly, which is a big advantage. After Ajax, I reckon he is going to the UK. Scandinavian players always end up there.

The Daily Mirror is saying that Chelsea want Ajax right-back Gregory van der Wiel. The number being thrown around is £18m.
