Kowalczyk schreef: Once again: no.

There will be a draw for the second round: all teams in a bowl and there you go.

If we make it to the second round everything will be 100% open.

K.
You sure about that K??

got this from UEFA.Com

Knockout phase
From the last 16 until the semi-finals, clubs play two matches against each other on a home and away basis with the same rules as the qualifying rounds applied. In the last 16, group winners play runners-up other than teams from their own pool or nation, while from the quarter-finals on the draw is free.

Am i missing something, misinterpreting maybe ??

Ah, didn't know that. So, group winners against runners-up, which makes the draw '50% open' (not 100%).

Bot in one of the previous posts someone said that we will play Juventus or Bayern Munich in the second round. That's not true. If we win the group (hahaha) we can be paired with any runner-up and if we finish second we can be paired with any group winner - except PSV ('country protection').

Seriously though, I believe we can win the group, and the league for that matter. There aren't many teams around with the power of the 2K's we met at F-word.

Well, I've sorted out a ticket for the home Arsenal game (cheers Ko!) and got my flights booked (£34.99 each way from Gatwick). Not too bad - it was more like £54.99 from Stanstead or Luton - both nearer to Arsenal.

I'm well up for this one, my first Ajax CL game and my first "proper" game of the year - can we just have a win now please Ajax and can Yannis come on and score the goal - that would be perfect and give me bragging rights over Arsenal again till December at least :xyxthumbs:

The closure of the transfer market is good news for the Mill, who can now spend more doing proper work. On its thumb-twiddling technique. It's bad news, however, for Thierry Henry, who's said to be so aghast at Arsenal's failure to significantly strengthen their squad he's thinking of leaving at the next opportunity. Sounds like the new Gunners captain is filling Patrick Vieira's boots perfectly, then.

:D

Yeah,

I heard alot of things about Arsenal players being a bit upset about the transfer of Goofy-legs.

Ljungberg had for example stipulated that if he was to sign a new contract Arsenal had to show intent of being a major club.

He eventually signed a new deal anyway but cannot have been happy about that transfer......

He's overated. Do you know that he has scored only 5 of all of his goals in the EPL with his head? That is a crazy stat, no wonder he never wins "Footballer of the year"!

What is wrong with scoring with your feet? I reckon that shows more class than scoring with your head.

Indeed a good bet, as would be Real and AC at 8.5/1 and Lyon, a real cherry at 21/1. Good bang for buck with those bets.

Sparta Prague have fired their coach, Mr Hrebik, today. It is as yet unknown if this means that Karel Poborsky will return (he was kicked out of the squad and loaned out to a Second Division side after conflicts with Hrebik).

For f#ck's sake -- that club's in shambles. It should be possible to finish ahead of them and f*cking FC Thun, or is that too much to ask? If we don't get out of this group we never will!

We will make it through this group. Believe it or not.

Just a bloody shame that it doesn't really have anything to do with us being a top European team :nooo:

Alright, folks... Friday's coming closer: the draw for the 'round of sixteen' of the Champions League. The procedure will kick off at 12:00 CET in Nyon, Switzerland. You can follow it live/real-time at UEFA.com and six gazillion other places.

We were runners-up in our group, which means we'll be paired with a group winner. The options are:

Juventus
AC Milan
Internazionale
Liverpool FC
FC Barcelona
Villarreal
Olympique Lyon

Please, Lord, don't send us to Italy again... Personally I am hoping for either Liverpool or Villarreal. What you say?

(Cockney Cloggies: which trips would you be up for...? I don't really feel like going to Milan or Turin again... I would be up for Villarreal, Barcelona, Liverpool and Lyon, the latter only by car).

Your thoughts, please!
