My birthday sees me home today watching a download of Edwin's testimonial. :blub.gif:

Was great seeing our U13s. I think our Number 3 and 7 have a real future.
For the Ajax'95 Vs Holland'98 game, oh what a game watching all the old fogies coming back. I reckon Marc Overmars would be a far better prospect than Borrigter :biggrin.gif:
Was nice to see Richard Witschge again though my old favourite didn't do anything notable.
The Ajax Vs EdVdSar DreamTeam, lots of possession but as the commentator pointed out, very useless possession. Great shot by Rodney Sneijder, very reminiscent of his elder brother, in the whole winding up motion.

Was a good way of presenting a testimonial and well worth to watch.

I watched the game Ajax v vd Sar's Selection (mostly Man U) on tv last night.
It was a nice event and a fitting tribute to a great player who did so much for Ajax, Oranje and Man U.
When I hear that Man U have a testimonial for Paul Scholes on friday against the NY Cosmos (???!!!???), I think we honoured vd Sar in the right manner.

Two observations:
- vd Sar choked up when he saw the Arena full when he came out for the game ... there is still a strong emotional tie there.
- When they interviewed his wife she said that they had made a very late decision to return to Holland and live there (kids schooling was mentioned).

In the (British) press vd Sar had been saying that after his year out of the game he would probably take a role within the Man U organisation and not Ajax (goalkeeping coach or whatever), but I'm not sure that is still the case after last night. I think the probability that he'll come back to Ajax in some capacity is now much greater.

Let us hope that it turns out that way.

Watched the game and enjoyed Bergkamp's goal. Great send off for a great goalie and Ajax legend.

Hope now he has moved back home he gets involved with Ajax again.

Tweet from Ajax Life says Sno to join RKC . RKC must be desperate.

Genoa were to sign Sno but failed the medical . He probably has no choice as few teams will be interested given his heart problem. He just needs a season to re establish himself and prove his fitness .

Wow, the Europa League match of the day pits two former greats, Jari Litamen and Klass Jan Huntelaar. Litamen is a sub now but has come on and his Helsinki team leads Schalke 2-0. Who would have thought this could happen?

Evander Sno had better offers from Russia and Ukraine but chose RKC , and the least money ,as he wanted to play in Holland and hopefully re establish himself.

No Euro football for Steks as Roma crash out of the Europa League qualifying, conceding a goal for a 1-1 draw at home having lost 0-1 away Slovan Bratislava. Too bad!

You trade CL groups stage for sitting at home on your thumbs. Wonder if he'd like to have that one back....

The new Roma coach Luis Enrique who has worked with Pep Guardiola is to blame really. Saw most of that game and Roma have been unrecognisable. He's curbed Totti's influence and had the old veteran running more than he does for defensive duties.

Too bad Maarten. Hope Serie A goes well for you.

The Daily Mail has an article on Winston Bogarde on what he has done since retiring ie lose money and his properties. Can I ask one of you experts to put the link here as its an interesting read although it does not really give us any idea what he is up to .
