Well done you lil beauties from Venlo!
AZ lose against all odds
PSV draw against VVV
Ok so the F-Word and Twente Won but all in all a nice opening weekend!!!
Holy Shit !!!! I turned of the TV when Toivonen scored Psv's third, thought that was it for VVV, a little late but great news

I must say VVV looks quite good, this Honda dude is a talent and Calabro up front can score some goals, mind you its only one game, but i think this team could be the surprise squad this year.

Is the UEFA Cup draw going to be seeded? Some really difficult potential ties in there.

Twenty - two minutes in , it's FC Twente 1 : 0 PSV. Douglas scored (18) on a header from the doorstep after Isaaksson made a total hash of a high ball and attempted punch .
Edit : Dzsudzsak just levelled for PSV. 1:1 (24)

And by the way he is playing, he will be getting more expensive after each game.

Which is exactly why Ajax will sign him. We were just waiting for the price to rise ... a la the return of our showstopping mf Rasmus Lindgren.

That sounds about right. Sign him in December for twice what he's worth, and then send him to the reserves next summer. I can see it happening.
Kidding aside, Honda is looking very good at the start of the season. I've read that he can play left back, but am assuming he's been in midfield this season, is that the case?

Looks like we can be a little bit late:
Reds track Honda
Liverpool are reportedly keeping a close eye on Japan international Keisuke Honda.
According to Dutch reports, VVV Venlo chairman Hai Berden revealed several top European clubs have expressed their interest in signing the free-scoring midfielder.
Honda, who was Eerste Divisie's Most Valuable Player last year, has started life in the Eredivisie in style with three goals in his first two games.
In the season opener against PSV Eindhoven, his impressive display won him plaudits from opposing manager Fred Rutten.
"A number of top clubs are interested in Honda. Some of them are participating in the Champions League this year," Berden told Algemeen Dagblad.
Liverpool scouts have been watching Honda this term and the 23-year-old admitted he would not hesitate to move to England if the opportunity arose.
"Playing in a league as prestige as the Premiership would be a dream," he said earlier in the year.
"I would seriously consider any offers that come my way

That looked like it could be some sort of spoof to me so I checked - it's true all right, small fire but pretty dramatic - better picture here

Brings a whole new meaning to the commentary phrase that "PSV are on fire at the moment...."

Cool. AZ lost at Den Haag yesterday evening. Which means we can leapfrog them.
I didn't expect PSV to make any mistakes against Roda (and they didn't), but I have a funny feeling about Willem II vs Feyenoord.
Having said all that, I am not 100% convinced that Ajax will beat NAC Breda, either.

Wow, if they win 6-0 when you are not 100% convinced, I am curious what they do when you think it is a no doubt result.

Next weekend it's Feyenoord vs PSV.
Which means we can leapfrog at least one of the two, and both of 'em if they settle for a draw.
Also: AZ vs NEC and Heerenveen vs Twente.

They remind me of last year's Grongingen team. They'll be ok for a while, but will fade by the winterstop. Nice that they disposed of AZ, though.
