Now that Newcastle have sacked Chris Hughton, maybe we can interest Mr. Jol in that position! Ooops, I forgot we wants a London team.

But a lot more potential than at small clubs like Fulham and even West Ham.

I agree but they will probably appoint one of the EPL retreads such as Pardew or Curbishley.

BREAKING NEWS:

Ajaxlife on Twitter says Martin Jol just quit Ajax.

It's quite reliable. Will keep you posted.

It's confirmed by Ajax.

Martin Jol has left the building. Cock Jol and Michael Lindeman go with him.

Enjoy Newcastle, Martin :drecul.gif:

Well, that's probably it for the season. Hopefully we have a full-term replacement by June otherwise, same shit, probably to repeat again in 2012. :confused.gif:

Here we go again now. I actually have faith in De Boer. Lets see what happens. Here's to hoping that the players think the same as I do.

I'm not too dissapointed with this either, I think de Boer is a good choice, for the short term.

I've been watching the Liverpool/Aston Villa match (nice goal by Ryan Babel) and they announced the news. Fantastic; I hope we don't owe much in terms of future wages.

Jol resigned, so we won't have to pay a penny. Most likely adress --> Newcastle.

Yeah we need someone who, maybe isn't as high profile as Jol or whoever and wants to bring a bit of stability and continuity back to the club, I know in previous posts i've been an advocate for Leonardo, but he will just be the same I fear, holding out for a 'bigger' job and we don't want that.

I hope the club keep Blind etc in their roles and get someone in for the long term. I mean someone like Foppe de Haan at Ajax CT, we're probably paying him, he's the Jong Oranje coach so he could be a good shout for bringing through the talent. We can always send someone else to CT in the same capacity.

Maybe we should call ourselves Real Madrid?

Gotta be said, I don't see Newcastle as a step up. They are a team that will never play Champions League Football in the next few years with a questionable owner.

I am grateful to martin jol because this team last year finally performed and had a clear idea of what to do on the pitch, which is something we missed from the olsen years. and yes, the man brought us the champions league after five long seasons. Then something has broken this year. I find it a pity, but maybe necessary. I am not able to imagine who could accept the challenge to rebuild this team with many key players going (but also the challenge to perform at least a place in CL). it happens all the time, again and again. bittersweet.

Nice to be back what a frustrating week for we english speaking fans. Ko please thank your Dutch mates who have worked hard to restore the site.

I was going to say way back on Monday that at least Jol was not a complete failure as we did have a goodish season last year ,should have won the title, and has got us to the CL group stages. Sadly in recent weeks the wheels have fallen off , we have lost games , played badly and he does appear to have messed about with selections too much and thus had to go.

Even though he has resigned he is still being paid until next June , I think he is on 3m euros per year so that means we are paying him 50000 euros a week .He is motivated by money .

What a breath of fresh air Frank de Boer has already bought to the club . I would see if Hiddink or Rijkaard are available ( don't see either wanting the job)and if not just give Frank the job until the end of the season .

Winning at San Siro should at least mean something.

If I remember correctly, Wouters started with a 0-0 draw at home to Heerenveen. Digging deep, I think a certain Frank de Boer missed a spot kick. :smallgrin.gif: I'd say he lost his first away game as well, I'd be surprised if he didn't. Wouters managed to manage us into mediocrity.

Blind started with a 0-4 loss at home to PSV. A breath of fresh air as well, I guess. A wee bit arctic though. Also managed to lose his first away game. Danny should have managed a sports store after retiring as a player, like they did in the old days. Not a football team. And defo not Ajax. The man's been completely useless, after hanging up his boots.

San Marco managed to field a team that lost in Tilburg. Adriaanse's first away game was at Sparta, we lost 3-0. I think he managed to lose his first 4 away games.

Hans Westerhof did much better. In stoppage team, his team scored a hardly deserved equaliser in Den Bosch... Dunno bout ten Cate's 1st away game, I DO remember one of his initial home games though. :excited.gif:

Frank wil be fine. Hope his team, the club's management and the infamous backbenchers (never shy to cause a stirr at Ajax) will be too.

We shouldn't have to pay a penny. :smallgrin.gif: But since we're gazillionaires... Slop's been sloppy again. And Boog's never said 'no' to a member of the Jol clan. :excited.gif:

Van Gaal has stated he's willing to return to Ajax to take control (in what position isn't exactly clear), but only on his conditions. He's even willing to give up his dream to become National Coach again. Quite a bold statement, certainly after his recent (a month ago) statement of never ever returning to Ajax.

Not a bad start for Frank de Boer eh? It's enjoyable to see some pressing and some more attacking play in midfield. We should remember that it can come unstuck quite badly though...
