Apparently the Sun is reporting that Spurs are interested in young Wesley.

I saw a figure of seven million pounds quoted; I believe on the Sporting Life site / transfer rumors. So many rumours about Sneijder, KJH , and even De Mul that I'll wait till the dust settles. SSDY ( Same S*** Different Year).

Yeah, that was in one of the London free evening papers as well (can't remember which one). They had the Sneijder quote about "Ajax won't want to let me go for free in two years time".
I don't think he'll end up at Spurs though...

The Independent in London is reporting today that Tottenham will agree to the 15M asking price, and are in talks with Sneijder's agent:

Yes, seems likely €15m is the fee. Two clubs want Sneijder but no bidding war

To be honest Tottenham have too many midfielders, they have bought too many players over the years.

Tottenham doesn't play any CL, so why would he go there. On this moment it is (in the sportive way) a step back for Sneijder. Ok, maybe a step forward financially, but the guy said he has ambitions. So he'd better stay here instead of going to Tottenham Hotspur.

sometimes its not about champions league...its simple, the premiership is a better league than the eredivisie, so it would be a step forward in his career. Besides sometimes it`s better to go to a moderate club like totenham than to a big club like milan and such. Van der Vaart is a perfect example of this.

Saw on Sky Sports News tonight that Tottenham just signed a mf from Lens . I believe his name is Adel Taarabt .
Also, both Sporting Life and Ajax Netwerk talk of Sneijder being retained by Ajax.

ajaxnetwerk also says that we're interested in Luka Modric (21) from Dinamo Zagreb. His price is about 10-12mln euros. if Sneijder will leave, he could be a good replacement for him. if sneijder won't go this summer, it's obvious that we won't spend 12mln on a miedfielder

No news at all. The only thing is that Van Geel said that there is no interest from Valencia anymore.

Spurs would a backward step as they are not in CL or likely to.
Transfers will hot up in July and I still think someone decent will probably come along for Wes

With 2 years left on his contract, surely he can stay on another season. Wes should be bright enough to see that if he doesn't go out on a high like Nigel and Rafael, he's going to end up in a half-f**ked team and not realise his true potential. No point joining Spurs as he'll win nothing with them. I'd actually like to see him replace Paul Scholes at United but with United signing Anderson, I doubt Wes was ever in Sir Alex's thoughts.
If no destination is good, don't leave... .

Spurs are coming good again! The only thing (at this stage) Wes Sneijder cannot get at Spurs is Champs League. Spurs will be stronger than last year and challenge for the 4th CL spot in the league.

How much are they offering?

You mean this? No clue. But I don't think goal.com or
Firenzeviola is very reliable. Though they are
not the only ones reporting it. Everyone is simply following what the italian website states.
Sneijder On Verge Of Fiorentina Move
The Ajax Amsterdam midfielder could soon join the Viola according to 'Firenzeviola.it' as the Tuscan side are searching for a winger to complete their squad.

The transfer speculation that Wesley Sneijder is on his way to Florence is becoming more real as 'Firenzeviola.it' explained.
The Dutch player is currently on top of the Viola's wish list and Cesare Prandelli wants to sign him at all cost.
For this reason, Fiorentina are ready to spend 15 million Euros in order to achieve the services of the Ajax midfielder and will offer the player 1.5 million Euros per season to convince him to accept the deal.
The 23-year-old player has been a regular at Ajax for the past 5 seasons, with a good aptitude for scoring goals, winning all the domestic competitions in Holland with the Amsterdam side.
For Prandelli, Sneijder would be the winger he has been looking for in the past weeks which would bolster considerably the midfield of the Viola.

That is exactly where I read it. I don't trust goal.com very much, but just wanted to find out from you guys if there's any news out there about this.
Hopefully this will just blow over - since the article essentially states that Sneijder is the winger which they are looking for.

I still expect Wesley Sneijder to leave (and I know for fact that Ajax would not be unhappy to sell him), but I think the vague stories from the rumor-mill (like the Fiorentina one above) are all bollocks. He will go, but probably in the second half of August, and to a major club. All these 'July rumors'... I just can't see it happening.
