According to NOS TT (and my perception; the ref reached for his pockets, but in the end there wasn't a card and he didn't write a name down) there was no booking

One of the Dutch members with access to the Eredivisie rule book will have to weigh in on this. I cannot find anything online. EPL is every five matches and suspensions increase. Serie A is every 4. Spain is every five. I think if you are correct about the situation in the Netherlands that it is quite harsh.

Im happy with the result, However, remember one thing, Ajax can not afford to play suicide football like they did today. If they are not careful then Ajax will come away with only a point or even worse at the abe lenstra stadium next week. All Credit to Frank de Boer, its because of this young coach, Ajax are in contention of the Dubbel.

I just can't understand, why De Boer put El H in the starting 11 week after week? I'm sure he has explanation, i'm just curious to hear it. :confused.gif:

Because he wants to give us fans something to write about! Actually, since he has come back he seems to be passing the ball a little better but as SPL pointed out in an earlier post on this match, he simply is too slow. We end up with a slow striker (el Hamdaoui) and a slow midfielder (de Jong) who I still believe is best suited to striker but hasn't proven himself fully capable. Whether everything is smoothed over between de Boer and EH I don't know; I only know he is not the answer to our problem at that position.

I'm really interested in who is brought over for the two matches here in the US. That may give us an indication of the direction the team may be headed.

El H will of course score the winning goal v Twente to win the title.

Siem's goal against Excelsior: YEAH.

He's Dutch. He likes bicycles.

As for the commentary: not exactly Dutch. :smile-ajax.gif:

Just to say that Vertoghen did not get a yellow ,evidently there was some confusion according to a report I have read . For the record it did say that had he been yellowed ie 6th of the season then 1 more would have been a ban.

Evidently the Dutch FA are not happy that images of F Words goals were shown during the match .
Excelsior complained. What aload of rubbish Ajax would still have battled away and won 4-1 even if PSV were winning. Excelsior and the Dutch FA have forgotten that going into our game yesterday Twente were 4 points ahead and winning was all that mattered .Anything else and our title hopes were going to be almost dead and buried.

What nonsense from the FA. In the not so distant past it was common for fans to bring small radios to matches such as this one so they could keep track of the other match (I suppose they could do this via smart phones today). The first goal by Wijnaldum would have brought cheers to the faithful regardless of the technology.

That's all nonsense, luckily...

Jack van Gelder claimed, in his Studio Voetbal nonsense TV show, that the KNVB were gonna investigate the matter.

But the spokeswoman of the KNVB denied and dismissed it.

Nowadays all you need is a cell phone. People will find out via friends or Twitter anyway.
